Finance Controller - Indian Business Group - CA

Company Overview :

The company is a diversified Indian business group with a large multi-sector operating footprint across manufacturing, e-commerce, quick commerce, cloud kitchens, pharma, logistics, and consulting.

Role Overview :

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with strong experience in financial reporting, accounting operations, compliance, audits, internal controls, MIS, and team management.

The role will be responsible for overseeing the companys financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, strengthening financial controls, managing statutory and regulatory compliance, and supporting senior leadership with financial insights and analysis.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Financial Management :

- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key finance metrics.

- Maintain discipline across accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial closures.

2. Financial Reporting & MIS :

- Prepare financial reports, MIS reports, and management dashboards.

- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal company policies.

- Present financial insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to senior management.

- Improve the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.

3. Forecasting & Financial Analysis :

- Lead periodic financial forecasting processes.

- Monitor business performance against forecasts and budgets.

- Analyze variances and highlight key risks, gaps, and improvement areas.

- Support leadership with data-backed financial inputs for decision-making.

4. Compliance, Controls & Audit :

- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting requirements.

- Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and finance policies.

- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.

- Ensure audit readiness, documentation discipline, and timely closure of audit requirements.

5. Team Management :

- Supervise, mentor, and guide the finance and accounting team.

- Allocate responsibilities and ensure efficient workflow across the finance department.

- Build accountability, review mechanisms, and process discipline within the team.

6. Process Improvement :

- Identify opportunities for automation and financial process improvement.

- Implement better financial systems, reporting templates, and control frameworks.

- Improve efficiency in accounting, reporting, compliance, and audit processes.

Qualification Required :

1. Qualified Chartered Accountant is mandatory.

2. Minimum 7 years of overall experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, or controllership roles.

3. Strong experience in financial reporting, compliance, audit management, and internal controls.

4. Prior team management or leadership experience preferred.

5. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory compliance.

6. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.

7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
