Role Overview:
The Finance Controller role is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the healthcare facility in Hyderabad. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, and financial analysis to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization. The Finance Controller collaborates closely with the hospital's leadership team, department heads, and external auditors to provide accurate financial insights and support strategic decision-making. The impact of this role is significant, ensuring efficient resource allocation, cost optimization, and compliance with regulatory requirements, ultimately contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements to provide timely and accurate financial information to stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the annual budget process, working with department heads to create realistic and achievable financial plans that align with the organization's strategic goals to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Implement and maintain robust cost accounting systems to track and analyze healthcare costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost reduction to optimize operational efficiency.
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making, including evaluating new investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and service line profitability to drive revenue growth and improve financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and reporting requirements, including tax filings, audits, and internal controls to mitigate financial risks and maintain the organization's integrity.
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions to ensure smooth operations and compliance with financial agreements.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve internal controls and safeguard the organization's assets.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in financial control, financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, and financial analysis within the healthcare industry.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals and drive financial performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience leading and managing a team of finance professionals, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and developing talent.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and healthcare industry trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in financial management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
