Finance Controller - Digital Media/Digital/Media/IT/ITES - CA

Role Overview:

The role demands a hands-on operator, not just an advisor. Consulting experience is welcome only if accompanied by real business-side exposure where you've owned finance operations, accounting, compliances, and cash discipline. You will own end-to-end finance operations: commercials, accounting, governance, audits, treasury, MIS, and business partnering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Operations & Accounting

- Lead full-cycle financial operations: AP, AR, GL, month-end close, reconciliations, accounting

- Ensure accurate revenue recognition aligned to media buying workflows.

- Maintain P&L hygiene, balance sheet schedules, and working capital discipline.

- Oversee client billing, vendor billing, media vendor payments, accruals & credit notes.

2. Compliance & Governance

- Ensure GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act and ROC compliance.

- Manage statutory, internal and tax audits end-to-end.

- Strengthen documentation, internal controls & process governance.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

- Maintain weekly & monthly cash flow forecasts.

- Manage banking operations, cash utilisation, credit lines & reconciliations.

- Drive receivables discipline in partnership with Sales & Revenue Ops.

4. Business Finance & MIS

- Prepare and present MIS dashboards, variance analysis and insights.

- Track margins, project profitability, media spends and cost metrics.

- Support scenario planning, budgeting and resource allocation.

- Provide commercial governance on pricing, contracts and vendor terms.

5. Systems, Processes & Automation

- Upgrade finance processes for scale (ERP, automation tools, workflows).

- Reduce month-end close time; improve billing & payout turnaround.

- Implement best practices for accuracy, speed, and transparency.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- CA with 10 years of post-qualification experience.

- Strong operational finance experience running the finance backbone of a business.

- Exposure to digital media, digital, media, IT or ITES industries preferred.

- Consulting background acceptable only when combined with deep operating experience.

- Strong knowledge of accounting, tax, audit, compliance and cash management.

- Structured, detail-oriented, process-driven, high on ownership and integrity.

- Comfortable working in a high-velocity environment with multiple stakeholders.
