Finance Controller - Accounts & Finance

Job Description:

- Oversee complete finance, accounting, and commercial activities for the manufacturing plant, ensuring strong financial discipline and control.

- Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, MIS, P&L statements, balance sheet schedules, and plant performance reports.

- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process, tracking actual performance against budgets and identifying key variances.

- Analyse manufacturing expenses, conversion costs, material consumption, overheads, and operational costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Manage plant-level working capital, inventory, receivables, payables, cash flows, and CAPEX to optimise financial resources.

- Drive timely monthly and year-end financial closure, ensuring accuracy of provisions, accruals, reconciliations, and accounting entries.

- Ensure timely circulation of detailed MIS reports by the 7th of the subsequent month, covering Business Unit-wise profitability, P&L, working capital, and balance sheet analysis.

- Monitor statutory requirements relating to GST, TDS, income tax, labour-related financial compliances, audits, and other applicable regulations.

- Review inventory accounting, stock valuation, material consumption, ageing, provisions, and reconciliation between physical and book records.

- Work closely with Production, Procurement, Stores, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to improve cost management and operational profitability.

- Drive effective use of SAP for financial accounting, cost tracking, inventory management, procurement, and plant-related transactions.

- Establish and monitor financial controls, approval mechanisms, reconciliation processes, and risk mitigation measures across plant operations.

- Lead coordination with statutory, internal, tax, and external auditors and ensure closure of audit findings within agreed timelines.

- Provide business-oriented financial insights, profitability analysis, cost trends, and actionable recommendations to Plant Head and senior management.
