Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Gurgaon

Reporting To: CFO

Department: Finance

Role Overview: We are looking for a meticulous and compliance-driven Financial Controller with deep expertise in direct & indirect taxa on, statutory compliance, and financial governance to support our growing operations. The role will ensure robust tax management, strict adherence to regulatory requirements, and strong internal controls across a multi-outlet, high-volume retail business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:


- Own end-to-end direct & indirect taxa on (GST, TDS, Income Tax, Withholding taxes, etc.) with complete accuracy and timeliness.

- Manage monthly/quarterly GST filings, reconciliations, input credit management, and audits. Ensure compliance as applicable to operations.

- Prepare and defend assessments, liaise with tax authorities, consultants, and legal advisors for scrutiny and liitgations matters.

- Implement tax-efficient structures while ensuring 100% statutory adherence.

2. Internal Controls & Governance:


- Establish and enforce robust SOPs for store operations, vendor management, cash collections, and payment processing.

- Ensure compliance with internal policies, corporate governance standards, and statutory audit requirements.

- Conduct internal control reviews across stores to minimize revenue leakages, cash pilferage, and compliance gaps.

3. Accounting, Audit & Reporting:


- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures in line with relevant accounting standards.

- Ensure reconciliations of banking transactions, aggregator settlements (Swiggy, Zomato, etc.), online collections, POS collections and vendor balances.

- Coordinate with external auditors for statutory, tax, and internal audits, ensuring timely completion without audit remarks.

- Maintain accurate records for fixed assets, and vendor liabilities in compliance with tax norms.

4. Treasury, Cash & Risk Management:


- Strengthen cash management practices for high-volume QSR outlets with multiple collection modes.

- Monitor and ensure timely vendor payments, statutory dues, and lease obligations with proper tax treatment.

- Proactively identify and mi gate financial, regulatory, and operational compliance risks.

Qualifications & Experience:


- Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA (mandatory).

- 6-8 years of experience in finance & accounting, with at least 2-4 years in a compliance heavy role within QSR, Retail, or F&B.

- Strong hands-on knowledge of GST, Direct Taxa on, and Indian regulatory compliances.

- Proven track record of handling large-scale audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance frameworks.

- Prior experience in multilocation, high-volume businesses is strongly preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies:


- Proven ability to drive accurate and timely monthly closures. Deep technical expertise in taxa on & compliance frameworks.

- High attention to detail, with a zero-tolerance approach to non-compliance.

- Strong governance mindset with proven audit & risk management capabilities.

- Ability to set up and enforce internal controls across multiple outlets.

- Proficiency in ERP systems (Dynamics and Business Central 365 or similar) and advanced Excel
