Position Overview:
- We are hiring a Finance & Project Accounting Manager to join our clients Mumbai studio.
- This role combines project-level financial management with corporate accounting responsibilities and requires partnering with Project Managers, Principals, and Studio Leaders to ensure financial goals are met on both local and global levels.
- The ideal candidate will be financially savvy, detail-oriented, and able to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders while ensuring compliance with global standards and local regulations.
Role & Responsibilities:
Project Financial Management:
- Set up projects in ERP systems (Deltek Vision/Tally) in line with company policy.
- Collect and maintain legal documentation for sub-consultants (agreements, COIs, work authorizations).
- Provide financial reports, forecasts, and profitability analyses, recommending corrective actions where needed.
- Ensure revenue recognition compliance with GAAP ASC 606 and other standards.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare monthly invoices and requisition forms.
- Support collections and resolve overdue accounts in coordination with leadership.
- Assist with project close-out in accordance with company policy.
Corporate & Local Finance Management:
- Maintain accurate corporate (Deltek Vision) and local accounting records.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, expense coding, reimbursements, and cash application.
- Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, management reports) and cash flow forecasts.
- Handle tax computations, filings, and local compliance requirements.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and financial schedules.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist auditors with year-end closing and documentation.
- Manage payroll processing and employee cash advances.
- Maintain statutory registrations, certificates, and office compliance records.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors/ Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years accounting experience in a professional services environment; AEC industry preferred.
- Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience.
- ERP experience (Deltek Vision required; Tally experience a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with US-GAAP, IFRS, and IND-AS.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with financial regulations.
