Finance & Accounts Manager - Startup - CA

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on and execution-oriented Chartered Accountant to work closely with the CFO and own the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of a fast-growing startup. This role requires strong ownership, attention to detail, ability to work in a dynamic environment, and comfort with managing end-to-end finance execution independently.

The ideal candidate should be someone who enjoys getting things done on the ground while also building scalable finance processes for a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations:

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate bookkeeping

- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes

- Handle vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and banking transactions

- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ledger scrutiny

- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closures

Financial Reporting & MIS:

- Prepare monthly MIS reports and financial dashboards for management

- Assist in preparation of financial statements, schedules, and audit workings

- Support budgeting, cash flow tracking, and financial analysis

- Work closely with the CFO on investor reporting and business reviews

Compliance & Taxation:

- Prepare and review GST returns, TDS returns, and statutory payments

Desired Candidate Profile

- Qualified CA with 2-3 years of relevant experience

- Prior experience in startups,big4 or high-growth environments preferred

- Strong understanding of accounting, GST, TDS, financial reporting, and reconciliations

- Proficiency in Excel and accounting tools such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems

- High ownership mindset with strong execution capability

- Ability to work independently in an unstructured and fast-paced environment

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
