Role Summary:
Drive growth and profitability for the crop nutrition portfolio, encompassing specialty fertilizers, broadcast fertilizers, custom grades, and micronutrients, by leading product strategy formulation & execution, new product introductions, and cross-functional delivery.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Growth and Strategy: Own and drive revenue, volume, and market share for all crop nutrition products including specialty fertilizers, broadcast fertilizers, custom grades, and micronutrients.
- Need Gap Analysis and Product Lifecycle Management: Identify market gaps and unmet agronomic needs to build business cases for new product launches; manage end-to-end lifecycle for both new and existing SKUs.
- Go-To-Market (GTM) Execution: Lead GTM planning and execution for new product launches including segmentation, channel strategy, positioning, and rollout timelines.
- Financial Planning and Pricing: Own portfolio P&L; drive budgeting, revenue planning, demand forecasting, pricing strategy, and pack economics to optimise margin and turnover.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the central connector across R&D, Product Development, Sales and Marketing, Procurement, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure portfolio decisions are commercially and operationally sound.
- Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis: Track competitor brands, pricing, subsidy schemes, regulatory trends, and soil-health patterns to inform portfolio positioning and action plans.
- Marketing Support: Co-develop marketing materials, agronomic content, demo-plot programmes, and campaign assets that drive retailer and farmer engagement.
- Training and Field Enablement: Build and deliver technical-sales training modules for the field marketing and sales team focused on nutrient-use best practices, deficiency recognition, and product positioning.
Technical/Functional Competencies:
- Deep knowledge of crop nutrition, fertilizer chemistry, and agronomic application.
- Product lifecycle management and new product introduction (NPI) process.
- P&L management, demand forecasting, and pricing strategy.
- GTM strategy development, Segmentation targeting positioning and channel management.
- Market research, competitor analysis, and soil-health data interpretation.
- Regulatory awareness: fertilizer policies, subsidy schemes, and nutrient-use efficiency norms.
