We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing, tax compliance, payroll accounting, and journal voucher (JV) preparation. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of income tax regulations, compliance standards, and payroll accounting practices, with proven experience in handling audits. As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely disbursement of salaries, bonuses, and benefits for all employees.

Income Tax & Compliance:

- Ensure payroll calculations comply with current tax laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of income tax laws, deductions, and exemptions.

Payroll Accounting & JV Preparation:

- Manage payroll accounting entries, ensuring that all payroll expenses are correctly recorded in the financial system. Prepare and post journal vouchers (JVs) related to payroll transactions.

Audit & Reporting:

- Manage and assist in internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with financial and payroll-related regulations. Provide all necessary documentation and information to auditors as required.

Tax Filing & Reporting:

- Prepare and file statutory reports such as income tax returns, PF (Provident Fund), ESI (Employee State Insurance), and other relevant filings.

- Ensure timely payment of taxes, employee contributions, and other statutory deductions.

Employee Queries & Disputes:

- Address any payroll-related queries from employees, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

Compliance Monitoring:

- Ensure the company is compliant with all labor laws, tax laws, and local statutory regulations regarding payroll.

System & Process Improvement:

- Identify and implement improvements in payroll systems and processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, MBA - HR/Finance, or a related field. A professional certification in Payroll or Taxation is a plus.

Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Proven experience in handling audits and complex payroll issues is essential.

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday, or similar). Advanced proficiency in Excel and other MS Office tools.

Tax & Compliance Knowledge:

- Deep understanding of income tax laws, statutory deductions (e.g., Provident Fund, ESI), labor laws, and payroll accounting practices. Experience with government tax portals for filing returns is an advantage.

Audit & Internal Controls:

- Experience in facing audits, with the ability to prepare and present required documentation. Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance standards related to payroll.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, auditors, and external partners.
