About Fairfax Centre for Free Enterprise:
Fairfax Centre for Free Enterprise is an independent research institution working at the intersection of enterprise and policy reform, built to advance evidence-led ideas for India's long-term economic growth.
Its vision centres on unlocking India's growth potential by championing free enterprise, shaping responsive institutions, and empowering entrepreneurs. The Centre runs two core workstreams: the Enterprise Growth Lab (EGL), which delivers actionable intelligence for MSMEs, and India 2047, an industry-led roadmap for India's economic reform through policy and regulation.
The Centre is chaired by Mr. Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog (2016-2022), and India's Ex-G20 Sherpa, known for driving national initiatives such as Startup India, Make in India, and the Aspirational Districts Program. It is led day-to-day by a bench of senior practitioners, including Ranveer Nagaich (Managing Director), Prateek Goyal (Director, Enterprise Growth Lab), and Diewakarr Anupam Mittal (Director, Partnerships).
About the Role:
The Founder's Office sits at the nerve centre of the Centre's work, supporting the Chairperson and Managing Director on strategy, institution-building, and high-priority cross-cutting initiatives spanning the Enterprise Growth Lab and India 2047 workstreams. This is a generalist, high-ownership mandate for someone who wants to operate close to real decision-making at the intersection of policy, business, and public affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive special projects end-to-end, from framing the problem to execution and follow-through
- Prepare briefing notes, strategy decks, and talking points for high-stakes engagements with government, industry, and global partners
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including ministries, industry bodies, investors, and partner institutions
- Support institutional strategy: partnerships, program design, fundraising, and organizational scale-up
- Track execution of the Centre's research and policy recommendations, coordinating across the EGL and India 2047 teams
- Represent the Founder's Office in select external meetings and forums
Who We're Looking For:
- MBA from a top-tier institution (IIM A/B/C, ISB, XLRI, FMS, or equivalent global program)
- 3-4 years in strategy consulting, investment banking, public policy, or a high-growth startup
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, comfortable drafting for senior government and industry audiences
- High ownership mindset; thrives in ambiguity and fast-changing priorities
- Genuine interest in economic policy, MSME growth, or India's development story
