ABOUT THE COMPANY

Ethera Diamond is a premier lab-grown diamond fine jewellery company with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Jaipur. We are looking for a motivated professional to join our manufacturing operations team and contribute to production planning, process improvement, operational excellence, and shop-floor efficiency.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to manage the end-to-end operations of our jewellery manufacturing facility. You will drive production, productivity, quality, cost efficiency, manpower utilization, and timely delivery while ensuring smooth coordination across all manufacturing functions. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in jewellery manufacturing / diamond jewellery production OR should have previously managed a factory, plant, or large-scale manufacturing operation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. End-to-End Plant Operations:

- Manage day-to-day operations of the jewellery manufacturing facility.

- Ensure smooth functioning of all production and support departments.

- Coordinate across production, planning, CAD/design, casting, setting, polishing, finishing, quality, stores, and dispatch.

- Ensure efficient material and workflow movement across all stages of production.

2. Production & Productivity:

- Plan and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.

- Monitor production capacity, manpower productivity, and machine utilization.

- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

- Minimize downtime, rejection, rework, and production losses to improve overall manufacturing efficiency and throughput.

3. Cost, Wastage & Material Control:

- Monitor and control manufacturing costs and operational expenses.

- Drive effective control of gold/metal consumption, diamond consumption, wastage, rejection, and rework.

- Identify opportunities to improve yield, reduce material losses, and ensure proper material reconciliation.

4. Quality Management:

- Maintain consistent quality standards across the manufacturing process.

- Work closely with the Quality team to reduce defects, rejection, and rework.

- Identify root causes of quality issues and implement preventive and corrective actions.

5. Manpower & Team Management:

- Lead and manage production teams, supervisors, artisans, operators, and support staff.

- Plan manpower requirements based on production targets and capacity; set team targets and monitor performance.

- Develop supervisors and team leaders to strengthen operational structure and foster discipline.

6. Production Planning & Delivery:

- Ensure production plans align with customer/order requirements and monitor order status for timely dispatch.

- Coordinate with planning, merchandising, and relevant teams for priority orders and peak period capacity planning.

7. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence:

- Implement 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Establish and monitor operational KPIs, performance dashboards, and drive a culture of accountability.

8. MIS & Performance Monitoring:

- Prepare and review regular reports covering production achievement, productivity, capacity utilization, rejection & rework, wastage/yield, manpower efficiency, order turnaround time, and delivery performance.

- Present operational performance and improvement plans to senior management.

KEY REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED PROFILE

- Proven experience managing a factory, plant, or large-scale manufacturing operation with multi-department leadership.

- Strong knowledge of production planning, productivity, quality, cost control, and wastage management.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and people-management skills.

- Ability to work with production MIS, KPIs, and operational dashboards with end-to-end ownership.
