The opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced, results- oriented SAP Project Manager to join our SAP Operations and Transformation team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned project management professional to lead and deliver complex SAP initiatives across global landscapes, working closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional and technical teams, and external partners.
While deep hands- on SAP configuration skills are not required, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SAP ecosystems, delivery methodologies, and enterprise IT operations, enabling effective governance, risk management, and execution across diverse SAP programs.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Project & Program Delivery:
- Lead end- to- end SAP project delivery across the full lifecycle: initiation, scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure
- Manage projects spanning SAP implementations, rollouts, upgrades, enhancements, migrations, integrations, and AMS transitions
- Define and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, dependencies, and resource models
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and constraints, ensuring delivery commitments are met
SAP Landscape & Delivery Coordination:
- Coordinate closely with SAP functional teams (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM, EWM, Ariba, SuccessFactors) and technical teams (Basis, Security, Integration, Development)
- Oversee activities across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, BTP, SAP Cloud solutions, and third- party integrations
- Develop a strong understanding of SAP architecture, system landscapes, environments (DEV/QA/PRD), and transport management
- Drive cross- team alignment across application, infrastructure, cloud, data, and security teams
Stakeholder & Governance Management:
- Establish and run project governance frameworks, including cadence meetings, design reviews, and steering committees
- Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, regional markets, vendors, and system integrators
- Prepare and present executive- level status updates, dashboards, risk assessments, and decision papers
- Escalate issues effectively with clear recommendations and impact analysis
Requirements, Process & Change Enablement:
- Capture, analyze, and document business and functional requirements, particularly related to SAP business processes
- Collaborate with business SMEs and solution teams to assess fit- to- standard, customization, and enhancement requests
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities across end- to- end business processes (e.g., O2C, P2P, R2R, Plan- to- Produce)
- Support organizational change management, including stakeholder readiness, training coordination, and adoption activities
Quality, Testing & Deployment:
- Coordinate testing phases (SIT, UAT, regression testing) and ensure entry/exit criteria are met
- Drive deployment readiness, cutover planning, go- live activities, and hypercare support
- Ensure compliance with IT controls, documentation standards, and audit requirements
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
- Support incident, problem, and change management in collaboration with SAP Operations and Service Management teams
- Drive root cause analysis and closure of functional and technical issues
- Promote best practices in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models within SAP programs
- Continuously improve delivery processes, reporting, and governance maturity
Skills And Attributes for Success:
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- 7-10 years of experience in IT Project Management, preferably within enterprise systems or SAP environments
- Proven experience managing medium to large- scale SAP projects across multiple teams and geographies
- Working knowledge of SAP landscapes and familiarity with major SAP modules and solutions (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, SAP Cloud products)
- Experience using project and service management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Strong understanding of SDLC, release management, testing cycles, and deployment practices
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, including executive- level reporting
- Strong planning, organization, multitasking, and execution capabilities in fast- paced environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, with strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Ideally, you'll also have
- Exposure to or understanding of SAP concepts, Security and Authorization
- Experience with project management software tools
- PMP certification or equivalent will be added advantage
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
