
EY - Electronics/ Semiconductor Sector Expert
Job Description:
- We are seeking a highly experienced and well-connected professional to lead and support strategic initiatives for the growth and development of the Electronics/Semiconductor sector.
- The ideal candidate will possess deep sectoral expertise and a strong understanding of location dynamics, talent ecosystems, regulatory frameworks, and policies influencing India's electronics manufacturing, digital services, and innovation landscape. Prior experience working with industry associations, think tanks, or advisory/consulting firms is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Ecosystem Development:
- Conduct comparative analysis of domestic and global hubs for electronics manufacturing, IT services, and semiconductor value chains.
- Design and implement strategies to strengthen local ecosystems, including R&D collaboration, startup accelerators, design-led manufacturing support, and skilling partnerships.
- Support development of electronics manufacturing clusters, data center hubs, IT parks, and semiconductor value chains.
- Work with government stakeholders to align infrastructure, policy, and incentive frameworks with the needs of electronics and IT companies.
- Support formulation of schemes, investment promotion strategies, and policy advocacy for ESDM, AI/ML, and emerging tech segments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with central/state government departments (e.g., MeitY, DPIIT), industry bodies (e.g., ICEA, NASSCOM, FICCI, CII), and global tech/electronics investors to build a robust ecosystem.
- Represent the organization in strategic forums and policy roundtables on electronics manufacturing, IT-ITeS, digital infrastructure, and semiconductor ecosystems.
- Facilitate linkages with OEMs, EMS players, component suppliers, technology providers, and electronics manufacturing clusters.
Knowledge & Insights:
- Track global and domestic trends in electronics manufacturing, digital technology adoption, R&D investment, and supply chain localization.
- Prepare investment briefs, policy notes, and cluster competitiveness reports tailored for Uttar Pradesh.
- Maintain a repository of use cases, FDI success stories, and best practices to support policy advocacy and promotion.
- Develop a repository of use cases, success stories, benchmarks, and cluster development models relevant to the E&IT sector.
Qualifications & Skills:
- MBA or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering, Public Policy, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the electronics/IT sector, ideally in strategy, advisory, or ecosystem development roles.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing policy, digital infrastructure, talent availability, and incentives across Indian states.
- Experience in working with public-private partnerships, investment promotion agencies, or consulting environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting or implementing state-level industrial/electronics/IT policies.
- Involvement in government programs such as PLI, SPECS, or India Semiconductor Mission.
- Exposure to cluster development, tech parks, or ESDM supply chain integration.
- Published thought leadership or reports in the electronics or digital policy domain.
