The opportunity: EY is looking for a Director in the Strategy & Transactions - Strategy Team A Director works closely with the Partner to lead engagement delivery, business development pursuits and building senior client relationships. A director is expected to lead end-to-end engagement delivery - driving problem solving, solution articulation, engaging with CXO level clients and taking ownership of delivering impact on engagements. In addition, the Director is responsible for actively co-driving growth of business by identifying opportunities and creating a pursuit pipeline through a combination of internal and external reach-outs and ideation. The Director is expected to drive creation of high quality POVs and proposals for these pursuits. Further, Directors provide mentorship to senior/mangers and support in building a strong, impact oriented team. For this role, the Director will focus on building materials and construction products as the sector. This includes the ecosystem of product categories such as cement, downstream steel, tiles, paints, pipes, wood products, construction chemicals etc. Key responsibilities 1. Primary end-to-end delivery responsibility in the execution of commercial due diligences, market assessment, strategy & diversification, growth acceleration and business planning engagements for corporates as well as PE clients - leading the problem solving and solution articulation with the on-ground team. 2. Manage relationship with senior clients and ensure client alignment on solutioning. Ability to proactively identify and solve for tip of mind issues of the client with respect to the solutioning. 3. Provide effective leadership to the engagement team. 4. Lead BD/ proposal development in key sub-sectors. Build a strong connect in the ecosystem - both across service liens within EY and externally towards business development and opportunity creation. 5. Develop and nurture a high performing team. 6. Actively drive knowledge building and provide thought leadership to the team. Required skills and attributes for success 1. Strong problem skills including problem statement structuring, top-down solutioning approach and ability to think creatively about solutions. 2. Experience and demonstrated ability in delivering business strategy and diligence projects in the building materials and construction products space. Ability to deliver engagements in tight timelines. 3. Ability to understand & drive CXO agenda and have focused conversations with senior clients. Strong facilitation and negotiation skills. 4. Strong story-lining capability with a lens of comprehensive, top-down, high impact articulation of the solutioning. 5. Creating a fun, exciting, collegial, and challenging environment for the team. 6. Go-getter mindset & attitude. Being flexible and adaptive. To qualify for the role you must have 1. 8-10 years of strategy consulting / diligence experience with a top tier consulting firm and a strategy / M&A / growth transformation role in a pedigreed corporate. Prior consulting experience is a must. 2. MBA from a Tier 1 management Institute
