Executive Director - Model Risk Management | Mumbai

Our client, a leading global financial services firm with a diversified presence across Investment Banking, Asset Management, Wealth Management, and Hedge Fund Services, is seeking a seasoned leader to head Model Risk Management for their Mumbai office.

This is a senior leadership role requiring deep expertise in model validation along with strong people management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and drive the strategic vision for Model Risk Management, aligned with business objectives and evolving regulatory expectations.

- Lead the design, enhancement, and implementation of enterprise-wide model risk frameworks, policies, and governance standards.

- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of model risk professionals, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Oversee independent validation and review of models across business lines, ensuring accuracy, robustness, and regulatory compliance.

- Conduct enterprise-level model risk assessments, identifying key vulnerabilities and implementing effective mitigation strategies.

- Partner closely with business heads, risk teams, and regulators to ensure transparency and alignment on model risk practices.

Requirements:

- Engineering graduate with 15+ years of experience in Model Risk Management / Model Validation.

- Proven leadership experience managing and scaling teams in complex financial environments.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.

- Deep expertise in model development, validation frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies.
