We are looking for a highly accomplished HR leader to head the Human Resources function for India, in a large, complex, global organisation.

This is an India Head HR role with overall responsibility for the HR function, excluding Talent Acquisition (TA).

The position will lead the Business HR / HRBP function and all other HR verticals, partnering closely with the C-suite, executive management, the Board and global stakeholders.

The incumbent must currently be the No. 1 HR leader in their organisation, with proven experience in leading HR for a workforce of at least 10,000 employees and managing a 30 - 40 member HR team comprising direct and indirect reports.

This is a highly selective leadership mandate.

All the eligibility criteria below are non-negotiable. Candidates who do not meet every criterion should not apply.

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria:

1. Education: Full-time, two-year postgraduate qualification in HR / Personnel Management / Industrial Relations or an equivalent HR specialisation.

2. GCC Experience: Mandatory prior experience in a Global Capability Centre (GCC).

3. Workforce Scale: Must have held overall HR leadership accountability for a workforce of at least 10,000 employees. Merely working in an organisation of this size, without HR leadership accountability for the workforce, will not qualify.

4. Current Role: Must currently be the No. 1 HR leader in the organisation, with overall ownership of the HR function, excluding TA.

5. Team Leadership: Must have led a 30 - 40 member HR team, comprising direct and indirect reports.

6. Strategic HR: Strong experience in defining and executing enterprise-wide HR strategy, aligned with business objectives.

7. Business HR / HRBP: Deep Business HR experience, with demonstrated ownership of business partnering, organisation effectiveness, workforce strategy, leadership capability and people-related business outcomes.

8. Global Stakeholder Management: Extensive experience partnering with global leadership teams and managing senior international stakeholders.

9. Executive Reporting: Must have directly reported to the C-suite, executive management or the Board, with demonstrated participation in strategic business and people decisions.

10. Career Stability: Strong career stability, with meaningful tenures, consistent progression and sustained contributions across organisations.

11. Employer Brand: Experience with reputed, established brands in professionally governed, complex corporate environments.

12. Age: Must be below 53 years.

All 13 criteria are mandatory. Profiles that do not meet every requirement will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the overall India HR strategy and agenda, aligned with global business priorities.

- Serve as the senior-most HR leader for India, partnering with the C-suite, executive management and global leadership.

- Lead the Business HR / HRBP function, ensuring strong alignment between people strategy and business performance.

- Oversee all HR verticals other than Talent Acquisition, including Business HR, HR Operations, Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organisation Development, Employee Relations and other applicable HR functions.

- Drive organisation design, workforce effectiveness, leadership development and succession planning.

- Partner with business leaders on transformation, growth, change management and organisational effectiveness.

- Build a high-performance culture and strengthen employee engagement, retention and leadership capability.

- Ensure robust HR governance, compliance, employee relations and people-risk management.

- Lead, mentor and develop a 30 - 40 member HR team comprising direct and indirect reports.

- Represent India HR in global forums and contribute to enterprise-level people and business decisions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be a strategic, commercially astute and globally oriented HR leader with a strong Business HR foundation and proven experience managing HR at scale. The candidate must bring the leadership maturity, stakeholder influence and organisational depth to operate as India Head HR in a complex multinational environment.
