Recently, ValueOne has launched its Out of Country Project, taking distribution to the next level by collaborating with international brands with strong global presence. Through this initiative, the company is driving market entry and growth for these brands in India-across both online and offline channels-ensuring wider consumer reach and long-term brand success.

Role Overview:

The Category Manager will own the end-to-end Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for a portfolio of international brands across marketplace platforms, with a primary focus on Amazon India. The role is accountable for growth, P&L ownership, and market share expansion, requiring a strong understanding of category dynamics, the Amazon ecosystem (S3P model), and the ability to collaborate effectively with global brands and internal cross-functional teams.

This is a high-impact role combining strategy, analytics, execution, and stakeholder management in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. GTM & Portfolio Strategy:

- Create and launch GTM playbooks for global brands entering and scaling in the Indian market, including positioning, value proposition, pricing architecture, and channel strategy.

- Conduct opportunity sizing and business case development for new sub-categories (e.g., robot vacuums, smart security, Kitchen appliances), and drive decision-making to onboard these products in India.

- Own product lifecycle management-from launch and ramp-up to sustenance, promotions, and end-of-life planning.

- Drive category-level planning aligned to annual operating plans (AOPs).

2. Consumer & Market Insights:

- Lead category in sighting across consumer needs, usage behaviour, purchase barriers, and ecosystem/attach drivers.

- Track and analyse competitive landscape (pricing, specifications, content, promotions, and channel moves) and translate insights into actionable counter-strategies.

3. Marketing & Growth:

- Collaborate with marketing teams to design and execute integrated GTM campaigns across AMS, digital, influencer, ATL, and BTL channels.

- Own and track key GTM and performance KPIs including ACoS, TACoS, awareness, consideration, conversion, attach rate, and repeat/upgrade metrics.

- Drive continuous optimization of content, pricing, promotions, and traffic to improve ROI and scale growth.

4. Cross-Functional & Brand Leadership:

- Partner closely with global brands, supply chain, finance, compliance, and operations to ensure seamless launches and scalable growth.

- Act as the voice of India for global brand partners, providing inputs on localization, feature requirements, regulatory compliance, pricing bands, and assortment strategy.

- Coordinate with Amazon category teams and internal stakeholders to drive selection, availability, and operational excellence.

Key Success Metrics:

- Revenue and margin delivery versus AOP for assigned categories and brands.

- Market share gains in priority and focus sub-categories.

- On-time launch execution and sell-through performance versus plan.

- Sustained improvement in contribution margins and inventory efficiency.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- 3-4 years of experience in E-commerce Category Management, preferably within Electronics or Appliances.

- Strong understanding of the Amazon ecosystem, particularly the S3P seller model.

- Proven expertise in pricing, gross margin management, inventory planning, and end-to-end demand planning.

- Demonstrated ability to own business targets, drive growth, and deliver bottom-line results.

- Strong analytical capability to interpret market trends, consumer insights, competitive dynamics, and category shifts.

- Hands-on experience in managing product launches and working with cross-functional teams (Brands, Amazon, Finance, Supply Chain, Compliance).

- High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, analytics tools, and Amazon reports/dashboards.

- Working knowledge of performance marketing concepts (AMS experience preferred).

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Background:

- Experience in Amazon, e-commerce marketplaces, retail, or D2C ecosystems.

- Prior exposure to S3P / marketplace seller models.

- MBA from a Tier 1 / Tier 2 institute preferred.

- Experience working with S3P sellers on selection, availability, pricing, and operational excellence.
