Your Impact

The role leads advanced SEO strategies to boost organic traffic, rankings, and visibility for multiple clients, integrating with performance marketing efforts to drive measurable growth. As a Sr. Manager-SEO (SEO / GEO Expert (AI-era Search & Content), you will join McKinsey's Digital Marketing hub (DMH) and will be part of our client service team to take ownership of a workstream and solve some of the toughest challenges our clients face. -

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, execute, and manage comprehensive SEO strategies for multiple clients across various industries.

2. Conduct in-depth keyword research, competitive analysis, and website audits to identify opportunities for organic growth.

3. Optimize on-page and off-page elements, including technical SEO, content optimization, meta tags, link building, and mobile performance.

4. Collaborate with the content team to ensure SEO best practices are implemented in writing, editing, and content publishing processes.

5. Lead technical audits to ensure best practices for site architecture, crawlability, indexability, and load speed.

6. Implement structured data, rich snippets, and schema markups to enhance SERP visibility.

Work with web development teams to ensure technical SEO is incorporated into website updates and migrations.

7. Utilize tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other SEO software to monitor and analyze SEO performance.

8. Provide detailed, data-driven reports on organic traffic trends, keyword rankings, conversion rates, and key SEO metrics.

9. Develop actionable insights and recommendations to continually optimize SEO performance.

10. Work closely with PPC and paid media teams to develop holistic strategies that balance organic and paid search efforts.

11. Mentor and train junior SEO team members, providing guidance on best practices and industry trends.

12. Lead client meetings and presentations, offering expert insights on SEO strategies, trends, and progress.

13. Stay on top of search engine algorithm updates and emerging SEO trends to ensure strategies remain cutting-edge and compliant.

14. Conduct regular competitor analysis to understand their SEO strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.

You will be based in Gurgaon and will be part of the ETML Team (subsidiary of McKinsey & Co.) which is a part of the Growth, Marketing and Sales practice. Your Qualifications and Skills

1. Proven experience (4-8 years) in SEO, with a focus on performance marketing and driving measurable results.

2. Deep understanding of SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog, etc.

3. Expertise in technical SEO and content optimization, with an eye on how AI-powered search (Google SGE, Bing Copilot, Perplexity, etc.) changes discovery.

4. Ability to craft GEO-specific strategies that integrate language nuance, culture, and local AI-search behaviors.

5. Experience with GenAI-driven content workflows to create scalable, high-quality, search-ready assets.

6. Strong understanding of how AI reshapes ranking signals, structured data, and search intent, and ability to future-proof strategies

7. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science or a related field preferred. Experience working in a performance marketing agency or a fast-paced digital marketing environment.

8. A mindset for connecting SEO to broader growth levers like AI content automation, personalization, and digital brand building

9. Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple client accounts simultaneously.
