Equity Research Analyst - Portfolio Management Services Team - CA/CFA/IIM/MDI/FMS

Role Overview :

We are seeking a high-calibre Equity Research Analyst to join our Portfolio Management Services (PMS) team, with a primary focus on Indian listed equities. The role involves conducting rigorous, bottoms-up fundamental research to generate actionable investment ideas and support portfolio decision-making. The ideal candidate combines deep sector knowledge with strong financial modelling skills, is comfortable engaging with company managements, and is driven by intellectual curiosity and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Work closely with the Fund Manager to identify, evaluate, and analyse equity investment opportunities across the Indian listed universe

- Develop sector insights, investment theses, and valuation frameworks; generate and present high-conviction stock ideas

- Build, maintain, and refine 3-statement financial models, DCF and relative valuation frameworks, and internal screening databases

- Prepare investment notes, initiating coverage reports, and quarterly result updates for the Investment Committee

- Conduct primary due diligence - interact with CEOs, CFOs, and Investor Relations teams to validate assumptions and gather channel checks

- Monitor sector developments, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics on an ongoing basis; revise earnings estimates accordingly

- Cover BFSI and/or Pharma sectors as primary domains, with the expectation to build deep domain expertise over time

Desired Profile & Qualifications :

- CA / CFA, or MBA (Finance) from a top-tier business school

- 2-5 years of experience in equity research, asset management, or investment banking; buy-side experience preferred

- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities; proficiency in Excel and data platforms such as Bloomberg, Capitaline, or Ace Equity

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to distil complex ideas into concise investment notes

- Prior coverage of BFSI (banks, NBFCs, insurance) or Pharma (domestic formulations, APIs, CROs) will be highly regarded

- Entrepreneurial attitude, first-principles thinking, and a proactive approach to idea generation

- Comfort engaging with external stakeholders - managements, industry experts, and peer investors
