About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Equity Research Analyst to lead fundamental research and investment analysis across assigned sectors. The role involves generating high-conviction investment ideas, building robust financial models, supporting portfolio decisions, and contributing to long-term investment strategy. Based on performance, this role may offer a progression path into Portfolio / Fund Management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead fundamental equity research across assigned sectors (BFSI / IT / Pharma or others).

- Prepare initiating coverage reports, earnings review notes, and thematic research.

- Build, maintain, and review advanced financial models including forecasting, scenario analysis, and valuation.

- Apply valuation methodologies such as DCF, Relative Valuation, and Comparable Analysis.

- Develop clear investment theses, stock recommendations, and risk assessments.

- Track macroeconomic, regulatory, and sector-specific developments impacting portfolio companies.

- Support portfolio construction, stock selection, and performance monitoring.

- Interact with company management, participate in plant/site visits, concalls, and analyst meetings.

- Prepare client-ready investment commentaries, presentations, and market outlook reports.

- Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with leadership on research quality and product strategy.

- Respond to ad-hoc research requests from internal stakeholders, sales, and investment teams.

Required Skills & Expertise:

- Strong expertise in Equity Research, Fundamental Analysis, and Financial Modelling.

- Hands-on experience with DCF, Relative & Comparative Valuation techniques.

- Proficiency in Bloomberg Terminal, Capital Line, Ace Equity, and other research databases.

- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (financial models, scenario analysis) and PowerPoint.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investment thesis articulation skills.

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced investment environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and management interactions.

Experience & Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in buy-side or sell-side equity research and/or portfolio support roles.

- Proven research experience in BFSI / IT / Healthcare / Pharma sectors preferred.

- Professional qualifications such as CA / CFA / MBA (Finance) are preferred.

- Prior exposure to institutional clients, asset management, or wealth management is an advantage
