About the Role:

We are looking for an Equity Research Analyst to join the investment/research team of a well-established 50-year-old manufacturing group. The role will involve conducting fundamental research on Indian listed companies, developing investment insights, and monitoring companies across relevant sectors. You will be a part of the team that handles the groups Treasury division and family office.

The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, an understanding of Indian equity markets, and experience covering NSE/BSE-listed companies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct fundamental equity research on Indian listed companies across sectors.

- Track companies listed exclusively on NSE/BSE and analyse their financial and operating performance.

- Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation models.

- Analyse annual reports, quarterly results, investor presentations, concall transcripts and other company disclosures.

- Evaluate revenue growth, margins, cash flows, capital allocation, balance sheet strength and business quality.

- Prepare detailed research reports, company notes and investment presentations.

- Track quarterly results, corporate announcements, management commentary and industry developments.

- Conduct peer and competitive analysis across relevant industries.

- Apply valuation methodologies such as DCF, P/E, EV/EBITDA, P/B and other relevant metrics.

- Monitor portfolio/watchlist companies and identify material changes in business fundamentals.

- Participate in management interactions, earnings calls, analyst meets and investor conferences where relevant.

- Develop and maintain databases covering financial, operational and market information.

- Present research findings and investment-related analysis to senior management.

Candidate Profile:

- 1 - 6 years of experience in Equity Research, Investment Research, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or a closely related role.

- Experience covering Indian equity markets and Indian companies listed on NSE/BSE is mandatory.

- Strong understanding of financial statements, company analysis and equity valuation.

- Hands-on experience in financial modelling and Excel.

- Ability to independently research companies and industries and convert information into actionable analytical insights.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Candidates from sell-side equity research, buy-side research, PMS/AIFs, asset management firms or investment teams would be relevant.

- CA / CFA / MBA (Finance) / equivalent qualification would be preferred.
