Reporting To - Head - Equity Investments

Job Purpose:

To support the life insurance company's investment objectives by conducting in-depth equity research, generating actionable investment ideas, and managing equity portfolios in line with regulatory, risk, and long-term liability requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Equity Research & Analysis:

- Conduct - fundamental research on listed companies across key sectors (BFSI, consumption, pharma, IT, infrastructure, etc.).

- Build and maintain financial models (3-statement, valuation, scenario & sensitivity analysis).

- Analyze company financials, annual reports, earnings calls, and management interactions.

- Prepare investment notes, stock recommendations, and sector outlook reports.

2) Portfolio Support & Investment Decisions:

- Support management of equity and equity-related investments (direct equity, mutual funds, ETFs).

- Track portfolio performance vs benchmarks and internal targets.

- Monitor risk parameters such as concentration, liquidity, and volatility.

- Assist in portfolio rebalancing based on market conditions and liability profiles.

3) Market & Sector Intelligence:

- Track macroeconomic trends, interest rates, policy changes, and their impact on equity markets.

- Provide sector-level insights relevant to long-term insurance funds.

- Monitor corporate actions, regulatory updates, and ESG developments.

4) Regulatory & Compliance Support:

- Ensure investments comply with IRDAI investment regulations , internal investment policies, and risk frameworks.

- Support audits, board presentations, and regulatory reporting related to equity investments.

5) Stakeholder Interaction:

- Interact with sell-side analysts, fund managers, brokers, and company management.

- Support senior management and investment committees with data-driven insights.

Education & Experience:

- MBA / CFA / CA / FRM or equivalent qualification.

- 2-6 years of experience in equity research, asset management, PMS, mutual fund, or insurance investments.

- Prior experience in life insurance or long-term institutional investment is a plus.
