The Role:
The Senior Research Analyst role is integral to the fund's investment process. The successful candidate will operate within a lean, high-caliber team, taking ownership of the entire research lifecycle for prospective and existing investments. This position requires a commitment to analytical rigor, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and the capacity to uncover unique value propositions in under-researched sectors of the market. The role offers a direct pathway to contribute to the fund's performance and strategic direction.
Responsibilities:
- Fundamental Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial and qualitative analysis on a range of companies, with a specialized focus on small-cap and low-coverage firms.
- Thesis Formulation: Formulate robust, data-backed investment theses, identifying key drivers of value and potential risks.
- Valuation & Modeling: Build sophisticated financial models and valuation frameworks to support investment decisions.
- Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence efforts, including on-site visits and direct engagement with corporate management.
- Portfolio Management Support: Provide ongoing research and analytical support for monitoring portfolio company performance.
Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience as a Research Analyst within a buy-side or top-tier sell-side institution.
Expertise:
- Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing smaller, less-followed companies.
- A proven track record of generating alpha-accretive ideas and contributing to successful investment outcomes.
- Experience in a specialized sector is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Education: MBA or equivalent qualification in finance from a reputed institution
- Certifications: CA / CFA / FRM / NISM is preferred.
