Role Overview

The Equity Derivatives Strategist will be responsible for tracking equity derivative markets, generating trading and investment ideas, and supporting advisory and sales teams with actionable insights. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound understanding of derivatives, and the ability to translate market views into practical strategies.

Key Responsibilities

- Track and analyze /equity derivatives markets, including index and stock futures & options

- Develop derivative strategies based on market outlook, volatility, and risk parameters

- Monitor open interest, volumes, volatility indicators, and market positioning

- Generate daily / weekly market views, trade ideas, and strategy notes

- Support sales, advisory, and relationship teams with derivatives-based solutions

- Assist in portfolio hedging strategies and risk management for clients

- Back-test and evaluate derivative strategies for effectiveness and risk-return profiles

- Stay updated with regulatory changes, exchange circulars, and market developments

- Interact with internal stakeholders to align strategies with business objectives

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong understanding of equity derivatives (F&O)- indices and single stocks

- Knowledge of options strategies, Greeks, volatility, and payoff structures

- Proficiency in market data analysis and interpretation

- Ability to communicate complex strategies in a simple and client-friendly manner

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills

- High attention to detail with a structured approach to analysis

Educational Qualifications

- MBA / CFA / CA / FRM or equivalent qualification

- Graduation in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline preferred

Experience

- 2-6 years of relevant experience in equity derivatives, research, trading, or strategy

- Experience with broking houses, PMS, AIFs, or wealth management firms preferred
