Equitas Small Finance Bank - Techno-Functional Business Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a senior Techno-Functional Business Analyst / Data Engineer who can work in a balanced 50% technical and 50% business-analysis capacity. The role will bridge business requirements and data/technology implementation by eliciting and documenting needs, analysing data flows, defining mappings, validating source-to-target logic and supporting technical delivery. The ideal candidate should be comfortable discussing requirements with business users and, in the same assignment, working with SQL, data pipelines, integration logic and technical teams to validate implementation. Strong analytical depth, structured documentation and the ability to translate complex banking requirements into clear functional and technical specifications are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

- Elicit, analyse and document business requirements, process flows, user stories and acceptance criteria.

- Perform data analysis, source-to-target mapping, SQL validation and technical investigation of data issues.

- Work with engineering teams on data pipelines, integrations, transformations and implementation decisions.

- Bridge business and technical stakeholders during design, development, testing, UAT and release.

- Own traceability, functional documentation, data definitions, issue analysis and stakeholder communication.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 10 - 15 years of relevant techno-functional experience.

- Ability to operate in an approximately 50% technical and 50% business-analysis role.

- Strong SQL/data-analysis capability and understanding of data engineering concepts such as ETL, pipelines and transformations.

- Excellent requirement elicitation, process/data mapping and functional documentation skills.

- Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate between business and engineering teams.

Preferred / Added Advantage:

- Banking/financial-services domain experience.

- Exposure to data platforms, APIs, data quality, reporting or enterprise data governance.
