Role Description

As a key team member, the Head - Deal Sourcing & Partnerships will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and sourcing groundbreaking investment opportunities for Equentis' recently launched 500 crore Category-I Angel Fund. This role offers a rare chance to be part of a vibrant team and significantly impact the growth and success of some of the most promising Indian startups.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing:

- Identify and source potential investment opportunities through:

- Extensive networking and participation in industry events.

- Thorough market research to identify emerging trends and high-potential sectors.

- Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with entrepreneurs, incubators, and accelerators.

- Forging strategic tie-ups with boutique investment bankers, industry experts, and consultants.

- Leveraging social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and others for lead generation.

- Evaluation and Analysis: Work closely with the Senior Management and Investment Team of Equentis to understand investment mandates. Discuss opportunities with bankers and prospective companies looking to raise funds, and subsequently coordinate the due diligence process and transaction execution.

- Maintaining the Pipeline: Build and continuously maintain a strong, high-quality pipeline of potential investment opportunities.

- Monitor & Exit: Work closely with portfolio companies to provide strategic support and monitor their performance, laying the groundwork for successful exits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background: MBA/CA/CFA preferred.

Professional Experience: 5-10 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Venture Capital, or the Startup ecosystem.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate investment opportunities.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective stakeholder engagement and presentations.

Network: A strong existing network within the startup and venture capital community in India.

Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Indian startup ecosystem and key industry sectors.
