Position General Manager /Business Head Sales & BD
Responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and leading a high-performance sales team within the assigned division. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the EdTech ecosystem, and the ability to build long-term relationships with educational institutions (K12) and key stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Strategy Development & Execution
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market penetration and identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential clients.
- Analyse market trends, customers preferences, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities to maximize sales potential.
- Develop and improve sales analytics to monitor and track sales performance.
- Drive the adoption software management and classroom management solutions across schools.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new regions, including market research, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning.
Team Leadership & Performance Management (Team & Personal Targets)
- Providing on ground leadership to engage with top retention accounts and top high potential revenue and group accounts
- Lead, mentor and manage the divisional sales team to achieve individual and collective targets.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the team and monitor their progress.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Apart from the team targets, the Incumbent will be accountable for personal targets as well in defined territory.
Revenue Generation
- Drive revenue growth by effectively managing and expanding the sales pipeline.
- Driving the sales cycle/process by understanding the customer buying process and needs; focussing on solutions; seeking to understand the challenge; keeping a consultative approach; and obtaining customer commitments.
- Evolve the team to a revenue generating mindset from the current service delivery orientation.
- Maintain strong relationship with key clients, partners and stakeholders.
- Active involvement in strategic sales activities including super premium account management and deal negotiations.
Client Relationship & Business Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in educational institutions.
- Ensure excellent client servicing and account management to drive customer satisfaction and retention.
- Represent the company at industry events, workshops, conferences and networking opportunities.
Operational & Financial Management
- Oversee budget allocation, sales forecasting, and financial planning for the division in consultation with National Head -Sales.
- Ensure timely reporting of sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights to senior management.
- Optimize pricing models and contract negotiations to drive profitability.
