Role Overview:

As an Engineering Manager for Data Science & AI, you will spearhead the development and deployment of sophisticated machine learning systems that drive critical business decisions. You will lead a high-performing team of data scientists and engineers, bridging the gap between complex algorithmic research and scalable production-grade software. Working closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and executive leadership, you will translate ambiguous business problems into robust data architectures and AI-driven solutions. Your work will directly influence customer experience and operational efficiency, ensuring that our AI initiatives remain at the cutting edge of innovation while delivering measurable value to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of AI and machine learning projects, from initial hypothesis generation to production deployment, to ensure high-impact business outcomes.

- Architect scalable data pipelines and model infrastructure that support real-time predictive analytics and complex NLP workflows for our global user base.

- Mentor and develop a team of data scientists and engineers by fostering a culture of technical excellence, rigorous code reviews, and continuous learning.

- Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to integrate Generative AI capabilities into existing platforms, enhancing user engagement and product intelligence.

- Define and track key performance metrics for AI models, ensuring they meet accuracy, latency, and reliability standards required for mission-critical applications.

- Communicate complex technical roadmaps and project progress to non-technical stakeholders to secure alignment and drive strategic investment in AI initiatives.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying end-to-end machine learning systems, with a deep understanding of data architecture and model lifecycle management.

- Proven ability to lead and inspire technical teams, with strong interpersonal skills to navigate stakeholder expectations and resolve cross-departmental dependencies.

- Advanced proficiency in building and scaling solutions using NLP and Generative AI, backed by a strong foundation in statistical modeling and predictive analytics.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex AI strategies to executive leadership and influence product roadmaps.

- A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field from a premier institute is highly preferred.

- 7 to 12 years of professional experience in data science and engineering roles, with a clear track record of managing high-performing technical teams.
