We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (PUNE) to lead our core engineering teams, own all aspects of project delivery, and scale our platform for global financial-services clients. You will combine deep technical expertise and software architecture with proven leadership skills mentoring engineers, refining processes with innovation, ensuring we deliver high-impact, production-ready solutions on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy & Architecture:

- Define and transform the technical vision for our foundation model platform in alignment with business goals.

- Provide hands-on technical leadership, contribute to high-level architecture and design decisions.

- Oversee system design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and reusability of core components.

- Drive adoption of best practices in coding standards, code reviews, CI/CD, and technical debt management.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering organization (Engineers across ML, backend, and frontend),

guiding them both in technical and professional development.

- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career-development planning.

- Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture of ownership, continuous learning, and creativity.

Project & Operational Management:

- Own end-to-end delivery: project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication with the utmost focus on quality.

- Collaborate with Product Management, UX/UI, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are understood and executed effectively

- Implement and refine Agile/Scrum processes, KPIs, and retrospectives to optimize team velocity and quality.

- Proactively identify risks (technical, resourcing, compliance) and devise mitigation strategies.

Engineering Rigor & Quality:

- Lead hiring processes: define role profiles, interview loops, and selection criteria to ensure top talent acquisition.

- Enforce rigorous quality-management practices: automated testing, monitoring, and incident response.

- Manage "fire-fighting" efforts-track support tickets, bug triage, and root-cause analysis.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

- Champion design thinking and user-centric problem solving. Partner with Product, Data Science, and UX to ideate solutions.

- Promote a culture of innovation and encourage experimentation with new tools, architectures, and methodologies to continually optimize engineering processes.

- Balance innovation with operational stability and compliance requirements.

- Stay up to date with industry trends and ensure the team is equipped with the latest tools and knowledge to stay competitive.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement:

- Act as primary technical liaison for key internal stakeholders and external clients.

- Present project roadmaps, architecture designs, and post-mortem analyses to executive leadership and clients.

- Incorporate client feedback into prioritization and product roadmaps.

Requisites:

- 12+ years of experience in software engineering roles, with at least 5 or more years in engineering leadership or management.

- Deep experience with modern development stacks (Python, Java, C++, etc.), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), microservices, and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience with large-scale system design and operational reliability in production environments.

- Exposure to AI/ML systems (foundation models, MLOps pipelines) is highly preferred.

- Proven ability to build and retain top engineering talent in fast-paced, product-focused environments.

- Strong project leadership skills - Agile methodologies, resource planning, and risk mitigation.

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills - able to translate technical topics to business stakeholders and present confidently to C-level clients.

- Familiarity with trading systems, quant analytics, or real-time data processing is preferrable.

- Domain Knowledge and background in financial services, trading systems, or quantitative analytics is a plus.

- Bachelor's/Master's in computer science, Engineering, or a related field ideally from a top-tier institution.
