Engineering Head - Solar EPC

Engineering Head (Solar EPC Engineering) - Mumbai

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Engineering Head to lead our client's Solar EPC engineering function across rooftop and ground-mounted projects.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in solar project design, quality assessment, and execution, coupled with strong proficiency in solar design software and tools.

As a core leadership member, the incumbent will shape technical strategies, ensure design optimization, and uphold the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Design & Engineering

- Lead and review engineering designs for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.

- Optimize system layout, equipment sizing, and generation projections using tools like PVsyst, ARKA Helioscope, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.

- Approve final drawings (SLDs, GA, stringing diagrams) and BOQs before execution.

2. Quality Assurance & Compliance

- Define quality control processes during design, procurement, and installation phases.

- Ensure compliance with relevant codes (IS, IEC) and statutory requirements (DISCOM, CEIG, MNRE).

- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on site issues.

3. Project Execution & Management

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering packages.

- Provide technical guidance to site teams during construction and commissioning.

- Track project progress, resolve technical bottlenecks, and ensure documentation.

4. Team Leadership & Mentorship

- Build and mentor a team of solar design engineers and project engineers.

- Conduct technical trainings and maintain knowledge repositories of standards and templates.

- Evaluate team performance and promote a culture of innovation and efficiency.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

- Work closely with procurement, sales, finance, and client teams to ensure alignment.

- Review vendor technical specifications and support in vendor evaluation.

- Represent engineering in client discussions, audits, and reviews.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy.

- Experience: Minimum 8 years in Solar EPC, with exposure to both rooftop and utility-scale (ground-mounted) projects.

- Software Skills: PVsyst, ARKA Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp, MS Project / Primavera.

- Strong understanding of BIS / IEC standards and grid connectivity norms.

- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
