Engineering Director - Platform

- We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering - Platform to lead the strategy, modernization, and scale of a core enterprise platform for a global, product-led technology organization.

- This role is ideal for a senior engineering leader who combines architectural depth with people leadership, and can drive cloud-native transformation while building high-performing, globally distributed teams.

- You will own the platform vision, accelerate innovation, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient systems that power critical business capabilities.

What You'll Do:

- Own and evolve a mission-critical, Java-based microservices platform.

- Define and execute platform engineering strategy aligned with product and business objectives.

- Drive cloud-native, API-first, multi-tenant SaaS architecture and modernization initiatives.

- Partner with Product leadership to create and deliver long-term technology roadmaps.

- Lead, mentor, and scale globally distributed engineering teams, including managers and pod leads.

- Establish a culture of engineering excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.

- Champion GenAI adoption across the SDLC to enhance productivity and speed to market.

- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security across the platform.

- Enable seamless ERP and enterprise integrations to support business data flows.

- Oversee secure and scalable B2B API capabilities for partners and customers.

- Manage engineering budgets, capacity planning, and resource optimization.

- Drive the transition from regional silos to unified global teams.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, Sales, and stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

- 10+ years of software engineering experience.

- 6+ years leading engineering teams at scale.

- Proven success building and scaling large, distributed systems.

- Strong expertise in Java and microservices-based architectures.

- Deep experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS preferred).

- Hands-on knowledge of APIs, integration frameworks, and DevOps practices.

- Experience leading platform modernization and reducing technical debt.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and organizational leadership skills.

- Comfortable operating in Agile and DevOps environments.

- Backend: Java, Microservices.

- Cloud & Platform: AWS, Red Hat OpenShift.

- APIs & Integration: REST, B2B APIs, ERP integrations.

- DevOps: CI/CD, GitHub, Jira.

- AI Enablement: AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot)
