Role Overview:

We are seeking a techno-functional Engineering Delivery Head to lead large-scale Application Development and Maintenance (ADM) portfolios for global enterprise clients, primarily across the US and UK.

The individual will own end-to-end delivery, client relationships, portfolio financials, operational performance and account growth. This role requires a strong technology foundation combined with extensive experience managing large delivery organizations, multi-million-dollar engagements and senior client stakeholders.

The ideal candidate would have started as a software developer, progressed into a technical architect and subsequently moved into large-scale delivery and portfolio leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. End-to-End Technology Delivery:

- Lead large-scale Application Development and Maintenance (ADM) engagements across multiple projects, products and client accounts.

- Ensure delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, SLAs and contractual commitments.

- Establish delivery governance, performance reviews, risk management and operational controls.

- Act as the senior escalation point for complex delivery, technical, commercial and client issues.

- Coordinate distributed teams across offshore, onshore and nearshore locations.

2. Client Relationship & Portfolio Management:

- Manage strategic relationships with senior client executives, technology leaders and business stakeholders, primarily in the US and UK.

- Conduct executive reviews and provide visibility into delivery performance, financials, risks and transformation initiatives.

- Build client confidence through predictable delivery, proactive communication and effective issue resolution.

- Identify opportunities to expand existing engagements and strengthen long-term client partnerships.

- Support account growth through upselling, cross-selling and new service opportunities.

3. Technology Advisory & Solutioning:

- Use a strong technical foundation to advise clients on application architecture, modernization and technology transformation.

- Partner with architects, engineering teams and sales leaders to develop solutions for complex business requirements.

- Lead or contribute to RFPs, RFIs, proposals, solution presentations and commercial discussions.

- Evaluate solution feasibility, delivery models, resource requirements, risks and implementation approaches.

- Maintain working knowledge of cloud platforms, microservices, modern application development, DevOps and AI/ML integrations.

4. P&L & Commercial Management:

- Own the profit and loss (P&L) for assigned portfolios or business units.

- Manage revenue forecasting, budgets, billing, delivery costs, gross margins and profitability.

- Improve utilization, productivity and resource allocation while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.

- Manage commercial commitments, engagement models and contractual obligations.

- Partner with sales and account management teams to drive revenue growth and improve account profitability.

5. Delivery Organization Leadership:

- Lead engineering managers, delivery managers, program managers, architects and cross-functional teams.

- Build a high-performing delivery organization with clear accountability and measurable performance standards.

- Drive capability development, succession planning, resource planning and leadership development.

- Promote Agile, Scrum, SAFe, DevOps and continuous improvement practices across delivery teams.

- Ensure effective coordination between engineering, QA, infrastructure, security and business teams.

6. Delivery Excellence & Risk Management:

- Establish governance frameworks and metrics for delivery quality, productivity, utilization, margins and customer satisfaction.

- Identify delivery risks early and implement corrective actions.

- Drive process standardization, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

- Ensure compliance with relevant security, quality and contractual requirements.

- Balance delivery commitments, technical quality, commercial objectives and customer expectations.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- 18+ years of experience in IT services, application development, technology delivery or engineering leadership.

- Significant experience leading large ADM portfolios and complex enterprise client engagements.

- Strong track record of managing multi-million-dollar client portfolios and large distributed teams.

- Direct ownership of portfolio or business-unit P&L, including revenue, margins, utilization and budgets.

- Extensive experience working with US, UK or other Western enterprise clients in a B2B environment.

- Strong technical foundation, ideally with career progression from software development to technical architecture and delivery leadership.

- Experience with managed services, fixed-price and time-and-material engagement models.

- Proven experience in delivery governance, client escalations, account growth and solutioning.

- Strong commercial acumen, executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Willingness to work from Mumbai.

Preferred Experience:

- EdTech, digital learning, LMS, assessment platforms, educational publishing or content technology.

- Experience managing large-scale engineering delivery organizations and multi-project portfolios.

- Experience with enterprise RFPs/RFIs, solution architecture, contract negotiations and account expansion.

- Exposure to cloud transformation, application modernization and AI-enabled technology programs.
