Engagement Manager Technical Delivery Consulting Customer Handling and Stakeholder Management
Our client is hiring for Engagement Manager:
- Deep empathy for the customer building relationships so the customer knows that we have a deep understanding of their organization and that we're with them every step of the way.
- Authenticity we need to believe that the candidate is genuine so that our customers feel the same.
- Passionate about delivering value to customers from technology not interested in technology for tech's sake or activity without valuable outcomes.
- Demonstrate values aligned to work (especially seeking customer success over personal short-term interests, prioritizing outcomes over approaches, narrowing focus, but widening context).
Must Haves:
We will want to hear the candidate demonstrate:
- Previously worked for a consulting firm in the past 10 years, and from this gained experience in creating and presenting proposals, negotiating and building deep customer relationships.
- Experience or deep empathy of living and breathing our target customer profiles (CIO, CTO, COO, head of product, head of engineering, etc) so has to:
a. be credible.
b. be relatable.
c. to anticipate and understand the unspoken needs of our customers.
- Look/feel/act like an adult-to-adult peer to our principal stakeholders in typical/target clients.
- Strong understanding and appreciation of the commercial drivers around technology (client budget cycles, funding mechanisms, return on investment etc).
- Working knowledge of leading teams at scale (multiple teams) using modern agile, product-led software development practices performed by cross-functional teams to deliver commercial benefits.
- Outstanding consulting skills.
- Excellent communication skills, internally and externally with customers and suppliers.
- Display strong relationship-building skills, using several approaches suited to different situations (emotional intelligence, adaptive communication etc).
- Experience working across a variety of sectors and domains.
- Pragmatism over all else.
- Display strong leadership (low ego, servant leadership aligned with EE values) to the extended team, including some customers.
- Have built and sustained teams through good times and bad and fostered a culture where individuals feel suitably challenged and sufficiently safe to perform at their best.
- A structured approach to taking risks and a high level of comfort when dealing with ambiguity.
- Willing to travel as needed (within reason) for the purpose of building relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Experience of delivering change to clients (especially large clients with complex organizational and technical challenges).
- Understanding the client's context and supporting the team to agree the change that is needed and how it will be delivered.
- Championing the client's change needs, including ensuring the EE team understands the context in which they operate in.
- Ensuring the EE team has the skills and experience needed to deliver the client's outcomes.
- Understanding how delivering change as a consultant is different from being a member of staff (can demonstrate the ability to anticipate needs, present options and agree approaches).
