GCC Advisory Engagement Manager

Location: Mumbai (Primary Location)/Bangalore

About the role:

As an Engagement Manager in GCC Advisory, you will support and manage consulting engagements across GCC strategy, setup, optimization, and transformation. Working with senior client stakeholders, enterprise transformation leaders, and internal teams, you will help translate business priorities into practical GCC operating models, capability roadmaps, and implementation plans. The role requires a strong grounding in GCCs, shared services, GBS, or outsourcing advisory, along with structured problem-solving, client engagement, and program coordination skills. You will also contribute to innovation-led GCC agendas by incorporating Engineering R&D, digital engineering, AI, cloud, and emerging technologies into relevant capability plans.

Key Responsibilities:

A. GCC Strategy & Setup:

- Contribute to GCC advisory offerings, frameworks, accelerators, playbooks, and value-creation approaches.

- Manage defined workstreams covering target operating model design, capability roadmaps, and value articulation.

- Support clients in evaluating location options, operating models such as captive, BOT, and hybrid, and phased scaling plans.

- Incorporate ER&D, digital engineering, AI, cloud, and emerging technologies into capability design where relevant.

- Develop research, benchmarks, and perspectives on evolving GCC archetypes including innovation hubs, AI centres of excellence, and engineering centres.

- Prepare clear recommendations and executive-ready materials for client and leadership discussions.

B. Business Development & Client Engagement:

- Support the positioning of GCC advisory capabilities across selected accounts and opportunities.

- Work with account and global teams on GCC-led RFPs, proposals, and proactive opportunity development.

- Contribute to opportunity qualification, solution shaping, effort estimation, and commercial discussions.

- Build effective relationships with client stakeholders and participate in senior client conversations with appropriate leadership support.

- Support pipeline reviews, account planning, and follow-through on agreed business development actions.

C. Advisory Execution:

- Plan and manage assigned GCC advisory and transformation workstreams from assessment through implementation support.

- Coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor milestones, and maintain quality across project deliverables.

- Apply structured methods to operating model, governance, capability, talent, location, and transformation questions.

- Work with clients across industries to design and strengthen future-ready global centres.

- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and decisions requiring timely escalation.

- Track intended outcomes and support value realization across the engagement lifecycle.

D. Practice Development:

- Develop reusable knowledge assets, methodologies, case studies, and delivery approaches that improve sales and execution effectiveness.

- Guide junior consultants and subject-matter contributors, review work products, and support capability development.

- Bring together relevant knowledge and expertise from multiple business units to create practical client solutions.

- Support relationships with external specialists across compliance, legal, taxation, infrastructure, project management, facilities, and talent, as required.

- Collaborate with industry and service-line teams to strengthen an integrated GCC value proposition.

- Contribute to client forums, industry events, and GCC communities through presentations, research, and point-of-view material.

E. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration:

- Act as a reliable point of coordination across client, consulting, delivery, account, and partner teams.

- Provide concise project updates, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

- Promote collaborative ways of working, clear ownership, and high standards of delivery.

- Contribute to an inclusive, knowledge-sharing, and high-accountability team environment.

Goals and Success Measures:

- Quality and timeliness of advisory deliverables and assigned workstreams.

- Contribution to GCC proposals, opportunity development, and qualified pipeline.

- Client stakeholder confidence and effective cross-functional collaboration.

- Practicality, clarity, and business relevance of recommendations.

- Development of reusable practice assets and growth of junior team capability.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelors degree in engineering, Technology, Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.

- Candidates must possess an MBA/PGDM from a recognized and reputed institution.

- 9-15 years of total work experience, including approximately 3-5 years in GCC advisory, GBS, outsourcing strategy, shared services, or related transformation work.

- Experience contributing to or managing client-facing engagements involving GCC setup, optimization, operating model design, or transformation.

- Exposure to consulting, advisory, technology services, or a GCC environment; experience with a leading consulting firm is preferred.

- Understanding of global sourcing trends, location considerations, digital operating models, governance, and talent strategies.
