Who are we:

At xto10x, were the scaling partners for high-growth startups and SMEs. We partner with leaders to help them (and their companies) navigate the often-bumpy, always-wild journey from 1x to 10x and beyond, building companies that last. Our work spans strategy, culture, people systems, governance, growth, brand and operational excellence, providing a comprehensive toolkit for building the organizations of tomorrow.

We work with companies over long horizons sitting inside their operating rhythm, owning outcomes alongside their leaders, and staying long enough to see whether the work we did actually worked.

So, whats the role:

Role Engagement Manager - Full time

Location: Bengaluru - [hybrid]

As a Engagement manager, you'll be embedded with the founding teams of some of the most ambitious companies in the ecosystem, working on whatever is genuinely holding the business back.

That's rarely one neat problem statement. What a client asks for and what they actually need are usually two different conversations:

- "We have an attrition problem." Often the real issue is that nobody in the org has clear goals and are disengaged.

- "Our sales team isn't productive enough." Most of the time, that's a structure and/ or incentives problem wearing a performance costume.

- "The founder is the bottleneck on every decision." Usually because no review rhythm exists that would let decisions get made without them in the room.

So you'll regularly find yourself going deep on something you hadn't touched a month ago. Learning it is part of the job, not a detour from it.

Each engagement pairs you with a Delivery Leader, and you'll own workstreams end to end: doing the thinking, not just the deck-making, and coming back with a recommendation rather than a list of options.

What could a "week in the life" look like:

You'll be toggling between high-level strategy and rolling up your sleeves to get things over the line. No two days are the same, but your work will likely involve:

- Getting inside the business: Understanding how the client actually makes money the P&L, the unit economics, what the founder is betting on for the next 12-18 months.

- Problem Diagnosis: Deep-dive analyses, stakeholder interviews, and workshops to locate the real bottleneck which is often not where the client thinks it is.

- Organizational Design: Partnering with founders to design and evolve their org structure in line with the ~2 year strategy; defining roles, responsibilities, and capacity that support speed and clarity.

- Governance & Operating Rhythm: Building the machinery that lets a company run without the founder in every room goal-setting cadence, metric trees, business reviews, MIS people actually use, clear decision rights.

- Building and running the "People OS": Designing core systems from scratch: performance management, fair rewards philosophies, ESOPs that drive performance and retention, career paths and succession. And then staying in the seat to run them being the employees voice in leadership reviews, driving the critical leadership hires, and the person the founder calls before making a call on their org.

- Making Design a Reality: Moving beyond advisory. You'll create roadmaps and work alongside the founding team to execute and implement, ensuring the work drives tangible results.

Why should you join us:

- Insane Exposure: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founders and leadership teams of India's most innovative, high-growth startups and SMEs. You'll also learn from a world-class internal team of seasoned operators and consultants.

- Actual Impact: This isn't "tweak the footer on slide 47" work. You'll be building the foundational DNA of companies you read about in the news. It's high-stakes, consequential, and rare this early in a career.

- The Spice of Life (aka Variety): In two years you'll have designed orgs, built governance systems, sat in on growth problems and rewired how companies operate across industries, at different stages, with different founders. That combination is genuinely hard to acquire anywhere else. Your brain will thank you for the workout.

- A Career Catapult: We're giving you the "scaler's toolkit." It's like a career cheat code. Youll gain rare skills that open doors to being a Chief of Staff, a People Leader, or maybe even a founder yourself. (No kidding. Check out Linkedin)

What we're looking for: Is this you?

- Learning Velocity: You can go from knowing nothing about a particular industry to holding your own in a room with its founder in about a week. You read fast, ask sharp questions, and are entirely comfortable saying "explain that to me" on day one and being productive by day five.

- Business Acumen & Commercial Curiosity: You're genuinely interested in how businesses work. You'll happily go and understand distribution margins in sporting goods or the mechanics of a SaaS renewal cycle, and you instinctively connect the org question back to the business question underneath it.

- Structured Thinking & Problem Solving: You can take a messy, tangled problem and Marie Kondo it into a clear, logical, step-by-step plan.

- Communication That Clicks: You can write an email or create a presentation a CEO will actually be interested in. You can explain complex ideas without making people's eyes glaze over.

- A "Founder Mindset": You don't wait to be told what to do. You see a problem, you own it, it fix it. You're resourceful, curious, and allergic to "that's not my job."

- Empathy & High EQ: You understand that all of this is ultimately about people and context. You can listen actively, hold multiple perspectives, and build consensus in rooms where people disagree.

The "Paper" Qualifications:

- An MBA from a place that taught you how to think.

- 8-10 years of overall work experience.

- You've either been in the management consulting trenches or you've survived the glorious chaos of a high-growth startup or a SME.

- Bonus points if you've already worked across functional lines the consultant who did a stint in ops, the ops person who ran a hiring drive, the analyst who ended up redesigning the business review.

What you get:

- Market Competitive Pay: Compensation that reflects the calibre of talent.

- A Piece of the Pie (ESOPs): We want you to think like an owner, so we'll make you one.

- Real Empowerment: You will get a lot of opportunities to punch above your weight.

- A Genuinely Fun Team: We're a team of smart and driven individuals, serious about our mission and genuinely care about solving problems.
