We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced world-class finance professional to be part of our global Employment Tax team. As an Employment Tax Specialist, you will be supporting the Team on all aspects of employment taxation to ensure global compliance. This position plays an integral role in supporting the employment tax projects relating to expats and mobility, compensation and benefits, and equity compensation. In addition, the role will support project implementation for key payroll and employment tax priorities, such as employment tax audits, business traveler programs and equity mobility calculations.
Responsibilities:
- Primary support for various global payroll and employment tax projects.
- Assist with reviewing/researching the Global tax and payroll implications for all stock schemes, including Stock Options, ESPP and RSUs.
- Provide tax support to our expat tax program, working closely with the Global Mobility group and outside tax vendor
- Part of in-house resource for expat tax related issues on a world-wide basis for both our employees and business partners.
- Provide support in managing withholding tax and social tax compliance from a payroll perspective, including end-of-year reporting requirements and updates of agreements with tax authorities
- Assist the employment tax team with the management of payroll tax audits.
- Primary lead for managing the multi-state and international business traveler calculation process
- Assist with calculation of equity withholding obligations for mobile employees
- Liaise with stock admin and payroll team to ensure accurate reporting and withholding on stock transactions
- Response to employee inquiries related to mobility stock taxation
- Assist with equity compliance filings in various locations
- Other duties and special projects as assigned as this role progresses
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related discipline
- 7+ years of Corporate or Employment tax and/or accounting experience in payroll, stock compensation and/or global mobility from organizations which value the delivery of best-in-class employee services
- Proficient use of Microsoft office products (word, excel, power points) and Google apps for work (gmail, gdrive, calendars)
- Experience in working with Finance, Tax, Accounting, HR and Operations/Customer Service - understanding of shared services within the context of the broader business enterprise
- Experience with one or more of the following processes:
- Employment tax audit experience
- Accounting and Taxation of Employee Fringe benefits programs
- Global Mobility and Business Travelers programs
- Travel and Expense Reimbursement accounting, audit and reporting activities
- Other integrated employee services programs
- Confident team player and contributor to the global payroll and employment tax teams.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to drive projects to completion independently, with minimal levels of supervision.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience
- Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient
