Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and production plans.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers, fostering strong relationships with key vendors to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery.
- Lead negotiations for high-value contracts, long-term agreements, and bulk purchases to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle, from demand forecasting and sourcing to order placement, expediting, and inventory management.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for material procurement.
- Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the procurement department.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination within the team and with other departments (Production, Engineering, Finance, Quality).
Operational Excellence & Cost Optimization:
- Drive initiatives for cost reduction, value engineering, and supply chain efficiency across all material categories.
- Implement best practices in procurement, including spend analysis, risk management, and supplier performance management.
- Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and geopolitical factors to anticipate supply chain disruptions and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Collaborate closely with engineering and quality for new product development, ensuring material availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Work in conjunction with Production and Planning teams to ensure timely material availability, preventing production delays.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure procured materials meet stringent quality standards.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on procurement performance, cost savings, and supply chain risks.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in material procurement within manufacturing companies, with a significant portion of this experience in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated strong experience in running procurement at manufacturing companies is essential.
- Proven track record of managing a multi-disciplinary procurement team.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in procuring materials relevant to solar module manufacturing (e.g., solar glass, EVA, backsheet, aluminum frames, silicon wafers, cells), solar cell manufacturing (e.g., polysilicon, ingots, wafers), and ideally solar water heater manufacturing (e.g., copper, aluminum, insulation materials) will be a plus.
- Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics, international trade, and logistics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (SAP S4 Hana, SAP Ariba) and procurement software.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
