Description:
The Manager Finance will partner closely with the CFO and campus leadership team to drive financial planning, reporting, controls, compliance, and operational finance management for the business unit.
The role will play a key part in ensuring financial discipline, decision support, governance, and scalable finance operations in a growing academic environment.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in business finance, controllership, financial operations, stakeholder management, and team coordination within complex and fast-paced organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Drive monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, KPI tracking, and management dashboards.
- Provide financial insights and decision support for pricing, scholarships, faculty costs, infrastructure investments, vendor contracts, and new initiatives.
- Monitor revenue, margins, operational expenses, and working capital performance.
- Oversee accounting operations in collaboration with outsourced accounting partners, ensuring timely and accurate closure of books.
- Review reconciliations, ledger scrutiny, AP/AR operations, and financial reporting accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, statutory regulations, and internal financial governance frameworks.
- Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, approval workflows, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and leadership stakeholders on compliance and financial matters.
- Drive finance process improvements, reporting standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Partner with campus operations, academics, central finance, and leadership teams to support business growth and operational scalability.
- Support implementation and optimization of finance systems, reporting tools, and governance processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- CA with 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in finance operations, controllership, or business finance roles.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, accounting, financial analysis, reporting, and compliance management.
- Proven experience managing finance operations in services, education, or operationally intensive environments.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, audit processes, and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing outsourced accounting models and multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, and ERP/accounting systems.
- Ability to operate effectively in matrixed and evolving organizations.
