The Assistant Manager - Finance will support the finance leadership team in managing finance operations, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and financial controls for the campus/business unit.
- The role requires strong hands-on experience in accounting, MIS reporting, financial analysis, and operational finance management.
- The ideal candidate should be execution-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working closely with academic, operations, and outsourced accounting teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, dashboards, variance analysis, and performance reports.
- Track revenue, operational costs, margins, and program-level financial performance.
- Coordinate with outsourced accounting partners for bookkeeping, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly closures.
- Review vendor invoices, expense bookings, and supporting documentation.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Support cash flow tracking, working capital management, and expense monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, statutory filings, and internal financial controls.
- Assist during audits and coordinate with auditors and external consultants.
- Monitor adherence to SOPs, approval workflows, and finance governance processes.
- Work closely with campus operations, academic teams, and central finance stakeholders for smooth financial operations.
- Support process standardization, reporting improvements, and finance system enhancements.
Required Skills & Experience :
- CA with 7 to 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
- Strong experience in accounting, MIS reporting, budgeting, and finance operations.
- Good understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and compliance processes.
- Hands-on experience managing accounting operations and outsourced finance vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
- Experience in education, services, or operations-driven industries preferred.
Preferred Skills :
- Exposure to budgeting and business finance support.
- Experience working in matrixed organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operational workstreams efficiently
