Product & Scientific Inputs - Nutraceuticals

- Prepare and periodically update Product Monographs, Scientific Dossiers, Training Manuals/Slides, Product FAQs, scientific presentations and other product-related medical content for the assigned Nutraceutical portfolio.

- Provide regular scientific updates to the Product Management Team (PMT) on assigned Nutraceutical products, ingredients, emerging evidence and market developments.

- Provide scientific and technical expertise to the PMT for the ethical and evidence-based promotion of Nutraceutical products.

- Address product-related scientific queries covering ingredients, composition, mechanism of action, recommended usage, safety, efficacy, clinical evidence, nutritional benefits and relevant scientific guidelines.

- Provide updates on recent clinical evidence, consensus recommendations, nutritional guidelines and scientific developments relevant to assigned Nutraceutical products.

- Support the Marketing team in identifying and defining the appropriate place in therapy / nutritional intervention for assigned products.

- Evaluate the scientific rationale for nutrient combinations, formulations, dosage forms and product differentiation.

- Provide strategic medical inputs for development of brand plans, scientific communication strategies and medical-marketing programs.

- Support PMT in developing scientifically differentiated positioning and communication for Nutraceutical brands.


KOL & Healthcare Professional Management:


- Participate in and conduct customized scientific, educational and promotional interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Nutrition Experts and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through:

- KOL meetings and scientific interactions.

- Webinars and digital scientific programs.

- Nutraceutical product launch meetings.

- National and regional conferences.

- CME and educational programs.

- Advisory Board meetings and expert-panel discussions.

- Scientific round-table meetings.

- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant KOLs and subject-matter experts to understand emerging trends, unmet nutritional needs and opportunities within the Nutraceutical segment.

- Capture KOL insights and translate them into relevant inputs for product positioning, scientific communication, portfolio development and lifecycle management.

Medical & Scientific Approvals:


- Initiate, review and/or approve scientific and promotional materials including Visual Aids (VA), LBLs, product literature, social-media content, digital content, training material, CME material and HCP communication.

- Ensure that all Nutraceutical claims relating to ingredients, health benefits, nutritional benefits, efficacy and safety are scientifically substantiated and appropriately referenced.

- Ensure medical and scientific content is compliant with applicable SOPs, regulatory requirements and relevant industry codes/guidelines.

- Work closely with Regulatory, Marketing, Quality and Legal/Compliance, wherever applicable, to ensure appropriate product claims and communication.

New Product Proposals & Portfolio Development:


- Identify therapy and nutritional gaps that can be addressed through existing or new Nutraceutical products.

- Identify opportunities for new Nutraceutical products, ingredient combinations, formulations, dosage forms and product

extensions.

- Conduct scientific appraisal of proposed Nutraceutical products based on:

- Clinical evidence and published literature.

- Ingredient efficacy and safety.

- Nutritional relevance and unmet needs.

- Recommended dosage and formulation rationale.

- Competitive products and differentiation opportunities.

- Explore emerging nutrients, bioactive ingredients, probiotics, prebiotics, vitamins, minerals and other evidence-based Nutraceutical ingredients relevant to the organization's therapy areas.

- Conduct scientific searches using appropriate global databases, regulatory sources, clinical-trial registries, journals and published literature.

- Provide scientific inputs for product appraisal and new-product selection.

- Recommend opportunities for product lifecycle management and line extensions.

- Propose appropriate clinical studies, observational studies or evidence-generation initiatives for existing Nutraceutical products to strengthen scientific evidence and expand their potential application.

- Participate in protocol development/review and provide scientific inputs for approved evidence-generation projects.

Training & Capability Building:


- Provide timely, accurate, balanced and scientifically validated information to internal stakeholders including Sales, Training, PMT, Regulatory and other cross-functional teams.

- Conduct product and therapy training programs for field and internal teams covering:

- Nutritional science and disease/condition understanding.

- Product ingredients and composition.

- Mechanism and scientific rationale.

- Clinical evidence.

- Product differentiation.

- Appropriate product communication.

- Frequently asked scientific questions.

- Develop scientific training content to strengthen the field team's ability to engage effectively with HCPs.

- Periodically assess and update training content based on new evidence, guidelines and market developments.

Scientific Product Database:


- Create and maintain a comprehensive scientific database for the Nutraceutical portfolio.


- Maintain updated scientific literature relating to ingredients, formulations, clinical evidence, safety, nutritional recommendations and product claims.


- Maintain updated Prescribing/Product Information, Patient/Consumer Information Leaflets and other relevant scientific documents, as applicable.


- Review product labels, cartons, packs and scientific claims from a medical/scientific perspective in coordination with Regulatory and other relevant functions.


- Support development and publication of scientific articles, review papers, case-based educational content and product-related scientific literature, where appropriate.


- Maintain appropriate documentation and references supporting scientific and promotional claims.


Product Safety & Pharmacovigilance Support:


- Support applicable product safety and pharmacovigilance activities for the Nutraceutical portfolio in coordination with the Pharmacovigilance/Regulatory team.


- Conduct awareness/training sessions for internal teams on adverse-event reporting and product-safety reporting requirements.


- Facilitate appropriate escalation of reported adverse events, product complaints or safety concerns to the designated function.

- Provide medical/scientific inputs for safety-related documentation and reviews, as applicable to the product and regulatory category.


Competitive Intelligence & Scientific Updates:


- Remain updated on Nutraceutical science, clinical research, journals, treatment/nutrition guidelines, disease-management protocols and scientific publications.


- Continuously monitor competitor Nutraceutical products for composition, ingredients, claims, scientific evidence, dosage forms, positioning and new launches.


- Track emerging scientific trends and innovations in nutrition, supplementation and preventive healthcare.

- Translate scientific and competitive intelligence into actionable recommendations for PMT, Medical, Regulatory and Business teams.


- Regularly share relevant scientific developments that may influence the positioning, differentiation or lifecycle strategy of Nutraceutical products.
