
Role : Manager - Product Development (Dot Net)
The Manager of Product Development is responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise for developing and supporting new and existing software products within Custom Application Research & Development (CARD).
This individual will analyze business requirements, perform design tasks, construct, test, and cloud-native implement solutions in an agile development environment, and provide mentorship to other developers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Development Standards : This includes maintaining code and version control through the specified application development software.
- Project Management : Lead and manage development projects from inception through to implementation.
- This involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, including planning, elaboration, development, testing, and deployment.
- Testing and Reviews : Ensure that employees complete unit testing for their code and participate in peer/code reviews of other developers' work to maintain high-quality standards.
- User Support : Provide advanced troubleshooting and user support, working directly with end users at all levels of the organization to resolve issues and improve user experience.
- Performance Metrics : Establish baseline key performance indicators (KPIs) and gather relevant operating metrics to evaluate the impact of new technology adoption before and after implementation.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement process changes that enhance technology adoption.
- This includes adding, changing, or removing processes as necessary.
- Training : Conduct training sessions and ensure that relevant training is provided to help employees adopt new technologies effectively.
- Software Development Lifecycle : Lead the software development lifecycle process for projects aimed at stabilizing, enhancing, and expanding the capabilities CARD team.
- Requirement Gathering : Gather requirements from the product owner and other business stakeholders.
- This includes authoring stories with strong acceptance criteria, prioritizing stories, accepting or rejecting stories, coordinating with other technical teams, and removing team roadblocks.
- Staff Management : Manage all staff members involved in the software development process, including developers, business analysts, quality assurance, and support personnel.
- Application Support : Manage ongoing application support by ensuring that support tickets are assigned to team members appropriately and completed in a manner that meets or exceeds predefined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Agile Principles : Evangelize and implement Agile development principles across the entire CARD department and other stakeholders to improve development processes and outcomes.
- Collaboration : Collaborate with corporate and divisional leadership, client executives, clients, and project managers to schedule, staff, and deliver application enhancements.
