JOB PURPOSE:

The Director of Product Development will provide leadership in product management & development across multiple application and development teams.

This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to establish and uphold product management standards, managing multiple teams of product analysts, engineering resources, overseeing training initiatives, and enforcing industry standards for product development.

This position will involve managing direct reports (managers and stafflevel) and providing oversight to skiplevel employees.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Lead, organize, manage and develop a team of managers, product analysts, technical resources and subject matter experts

- Personal leadership development and succession planning

- Assist in continuous improvement of staff

- Management of resource allocations

- Manage operations of the department

- Build solid relationships with leadership, business partners, staff, vendors

- Manage resources, prioritizing tasks, providing resources estimates, adjusting to change

- Manage, develop, implement and assess processes that support Agile methodologies

- Conduct staff meetings and 1:1 engagement with staff

- Prioritization of portfolio efforts / work in progress (WIP)

- Create roadmaps for strategic alignment of product features

- Create and enable strategies for making data-driven decisions on product features and future investments

- Assess situations, formalize options, and provide recommendations

- Work with team to review and improve processes and recommend emerging technology solutions

- Engage constructively with stakeholders and foster a collaborative work environment

- Responsible for operational budget, review staff allocation, department operational expenses, vendor license / maintenance fees for monthly operating reviews and annual budget exercise

- Drive product roadmaps and features driving Clients strategic values

- Collaborate across departments to meet project milestones, allocating and adjusting resources as necessary

- Lead resources in managing multiple projects

- Drive and participate in business case development and contract negotiations

- Communicate with leadership and participate in resolving conflicts involving staff, vendors, stakeholders, and business partners

- Work with team to define and promote using proven methodology adhering to architecture and security standards focusing on patient safety along with physician and clinician satisfaction

- Assist with project budgets, review resource cost and expenses for project monthly operating reviews

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Qualification: Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science or related fields

Years of Experience: 12-15 years of experience:

1. In product development and product management

2. In stakeholder management

3. In software development

4. In software architecture

5. In development frameworks

5+ years of experience:

1. In a management position

Skills and Capabilities:

People Management Skills:

1. Strong managerial and team building skills

2. Strong communication skills for communicating with technology resources, product SMEs, business owners and vendor

Technical Skills:

1. Knowledge of best practices for product development processes and methodologies

2. Prior management experience required, experience with software applications and full project lifecycle required

3. Experience in leading software development projects or teams

4. Functional knowledge of software architecture best practices and processes

5. Knowledge of modern application development frameworks (C#, .NET Core, native mobile frameworks, Azure, AWS, GCP)

6. Experience with Lean Development tools and Agile methodologies a plus

Other Skills:

1. Ability to balance demands of multiple assignments and staff development and retention

2. Strong problem resolution skills including identification, tracking, escalation, and resolution

3. Experience with process definition and documentation a plus

4. Experience in contract negotiations a plus

5. Willingness to contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture
