This role is for a portfolio company
Chief Operating Officer to run the engine of the business. The product and market are proven; the mandate now is to scale execution - to build the operational rigour, systems, and leadership depth that turn fast growth into durable, efficient, high-quality operations.
Reporting directly to the Founder, the COO will own the day-to-day running of the company's operational core, leading a team of 150-200 people across operations, supply and customer experience. This is the person the founder trusts to make the business run - freeing the founder to focus on strategy, product, and the next horizon while the COO ensures execution is world-class and getting better every quarter.
This is a builder-operator role for someone who has scaled operations before and knows the difference between managing a large team and truly leading one.
What you'll own:
Operations & Supply.
- Own end-to-end operations - the day-to-day machinery that delivers the company's service reliably and at scale.
- Lead supply and inventory, vendor and partner management, and fulfilment, building the processes, SLAs, and systems that keep quality high as volumes grow.
- Turn operations from a function that keeps up with growth into one that enables it.
Customer Experience.
- Own the customer experience end-to-end - support, service, and the quality of every interaction a traveller has with the company.
- In travel, experience is the product; you'll build a CX organisation that is both efficient and genuinely loved, and hold the whole company accountable to the customer.
Operational excellence & rigour.
- Bring discipline to how the company runs - the metrics, the operating cadence, the reviews, and the accountability that let a scaling org move fast without breaking.
- Instrument the business so decisions are made on data, and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and speed.
Scaling the organisation.
- Build and lead the leadership layer beneath you.
- Hire, develop, and retain strong functional heads, design the org for the next stage of scale, and raise the operating bar across a 150-200 person team.
- Be the operational partner to the founder and a steady, credible leader for the whole company.
Cross-functional execution.
- Work hand-in-glove with product, technology, growth, and finance so that operational reality informs strategy and strategy translates cleanly into execution.
- Own the operating plan and the numbers that sit under it.
What we're looking for:
We care most about a demonstrated track record of scaling operations in a high-growth, consumer-facing business - ideally one with real operational complexity such as travel, hospitality, logistics, e-commerce, mobility, or a comparable high-volume service business.
The strongest candidates will bring proven experience leading large operations and/or customer experience teams at scale (managing 150+ people, directly and through leaders), with a clear record of improving quality, cost, and efficiency as they grew. You'll have built systems and operating rigour into a fast-moving organisation - the cadences, metrics, and processes that let a company scale without losing control - and you'll be genuinely data-driven in how you run a business.
You should be equally comfortable in the details and in the strategy: willing to go deep into an operational problem, and able to step back and design the org and the plan. You'll be an exceptional people leader who attracts and develops strong talent, and a trusted, low-ego partner to a founder - someone who can own execution end-to-end and be counted on to make the business run.
A background that blends scale operations with customer obsession is ideal. Prior experience as a COO, VP/SVP of Operations, or a large business/P&L leader is expected at this level.
