Job Summary:


The Area Sales Manager - Solar Loan will be responsible for driving sales performance for solar financing products, managing a team of executives, and ensuring efficient credit and operations processes within their assigned territory across India.

This role requires a strong sales acumen, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of solar energy financing and the renewable energy sector.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-oriented, and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.


Key Functions & Responsibilities:


Team Management & Development:


- Build, lead, train, and motivate a high-performing team of sales executives specializing in solar loan products.

- Ensure the continuous career development of team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

- Provide guidance and leadership to executives in understanding their deliverables and achieving sales targets for solar loans.

- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Credit & Operations Management:


- Oversee and ensure the smooth functioning of the Credit & Operations Department within the area for solar loan applications.

- Collaborate closely with credit and operations teams to streamline processes and ensure adherence to policies specific to renewable energy financing.

- Ensure speedy resolution of customer queries and grievances to maximize satisfaction levels for solar loan clients.

- Maintain high standards of operational efficiency and compliance.

Sales & Business Development:


- Drive aggressive sales targets for Solar Loans and other renewable energy financing products.

- Implement effective sales strategies to expand market reach and acquire new clients in the solar energy sector.

- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the assigned territory, including partnerships with solar installers and developers.

- Analyze market trends in the solar industry and competitor activities to refine sales approaches.

Client Relationship Management:


- Cultivate and maintain excellent relations with existing and potential clients, solar energy companies,

and channel partners to foster loyalty and generate avenues for additional business.

- Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their solar financing needs and providing tailored solutions.

- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through proactive engagement and effective problem-solving.

Financial Analysis & Market Insight:


- Possess strong financial analysis skills to assess the viability of solar projects and loan applications.

- Demonstrate sound knowledge of the solar energy market, industry trends, government policies, and subsidies related to renewable energy.

- Provide insights and feedback to senior management on market conditions, product improvements, and competitive landscape in the solar financing space.


Education & Experience Requirements:


Education: Any Graduate or Postgraduate degree.


Experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3-4 years in Banking/NBFC (Asset Finance) area, specifically with exposure to renewable energy or project finance.


Managerial Experience: Prior experience in a managerial position handling techno-commercial aspects in related industries (e.g., solar, renewable energy, financial services) is preferred.


Overall Experience: Minimum 5 years of overall experience in related industries.


Required Skills & Competencies:


Technical Competencies:


- Minimum 3-4 years experience in Banking/NBFC (Asset Finance) area with exposure to solar or renewable energy financing.

- Proven experience in dealing with Solar Loans, Project Finance, or other related asset-backed financing.

- Strong track record of hard core sales experience.

- Excellent negotiation skills.

- Very good with financial analysis and possess in-depth knowledge of the solar energy business and project economics.

- Sound knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Behavioral Competencies:


- Presentable, proactive, and a self-starter with a strong drive for continuous learning.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are a must.

- Strong convincing and negotiation abilities.

- Performance-oriented with a proven ability to achieve and exceed targets.

- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders in the solar

ecosystem.

- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
