Job Title: Head of Supply Chain
Location: Gurgaon
Type: Full-Time
Role Details: Work from Office / Work from Field Locations
Context:
Eggs are natures most complete nutrition and have the potential to solve Indias nutrition gap. However, out of 40 Crore eggs consumed daily in India, more than 97% are sold in loose and unpackaged format. The Indian egg industry is largely unorganised at the backend as well as the frontend. A typical egg in India takes 8-10 days to reach a retail counter by the time it is not fresh and has lost nutrition values (by more than 50% as per research). With non-fresh eggs, there is a funny egg smell and runny texture of yolk and albumen, which is very common with Indian eggs. Farmers make thin margins and are dependent on unorganised traders and wholesalers. Due to low incomes and lack of knowledge, there is heavy usage of antibiotics and chemicals in poultry feed that causes long-term health issues.
The Company:
Eggoz - Nupa Technologies Pvt Ltd. Founded in 2017, Eggoz is a series-C funded egg brand and Agritech start up. It is funded by Gaja Capital, Ivy Cap, NabVentures, Avaana Capital, Rebright Partners and Others. The founders Abhishek Negi and Aditya Singh are alumni of IIT - Kharagpur.
Opportunity:
With growing demand for hygienic and branded foods, Eggoz is building a brand of eggs in a $12 Billion egg consumption market which is growing rapidly at 15% annually. Eggoz aspires to be the Amul of Eggs, creating a trusted national brand synonymous with freshness and nutrition. It aims to deliver superior nutrition with sustainable farming, aim at better income for farmers and strive for 24-hour freshness, thereby holistically attempting to solve the current challenges in the industry. The business model is asset-light and tech-first where farmers are onboarded to an integrated platform, which includes poultry feed & nutrition integration using only herbal ingredients, and bird management technology to improve farmer income. Eggoz is the leading and fastest growing brand of eggs. Its products are available in omni-channel retail in 3 major metro cities and nearby non-metro towns. In the next phase, Eggoz aspires to become a household brand. It is looking to scale the brand and platform to the rest of the country and build the largest national brand of eggs. It aims to build excitement around eggs and build the entire category of eggs and egg-based products.
The Role:
Eggoz is building India's largest packaged egg brand on a farm-tied, asset-light model - partnering with large egg farmers across the country. This is a distributed operations network where Eggoz must control quality, breakage, and throughput inside facilities it does not own. We're looking for a Head of Supply Chain to own this network end-to-end - from farm-gate handling through cold chain to last-mile delivery into quick-commerce, general trade, and other channels - as Eggoz scales toward its next phase of growth.
What You'll Own:
Farm-Site Operations:
- Own performance of Eggoz-deployed machinery and manpower across all partner farm locations, with breakage reduction as a core KPI
- Build and continuously improve SOPs for handling, grading, and packing at the farm level
- Drive root-cause analysis on breakage and wastage; engineer out defects at the source rather than downstream
Warehouse Compliance & Hygiene:
- Own food safety and hygiene standards across all third-party and owned facilities, ensuring consistent compliance at every site in the network
- Set up and audit warehouse compliance protocols (storage conditions, sanitation, pest control, traceability) in line with FSSAI and other applicable food safety regulations
- Run regular hygiene audits and corrective action plans across the network, and build a certification/compliance calendar covering every facility, owned or partnered
Logistics:
- Design and run the farm-to-hub-to-dark-store/retail logistics network to meet freshness commitments
- Own transportation, packaging, and route/hub design for a fragile, perishable product
- Manage inventory and demand-supply matching across a distributed sourcing base
Team & Field Force Management:
- Build, lead, and scale a regional field organization (site supervisors, quality staff, logistics coordinators) operating with a degree of local autonomy
- Put in place governance and oversight mechanisms that hold quality without requiring constant HQ intervention
Data, Tech & Scale:
- Partner with the tech team to build visibility into breakage rates, farm-level performance, and logistics metrics in real time
- Use data to drive predictive planning (demand forecasting, farm capacity planning) rather than reactive firefighting
- Design the network to scale 3-5x in farm partnerships and throughput without a proportional rise in cost or headcount
Cross-functional & Leadership:
- Work closely with founders/leadership on network expansion strategy, cost modelling, and category growth plans
- Represent supply chain in leadership discussions with the same comfort as troubleshooting on the farm floor
Who We're Looking For:
- Engineer with 13-17 years in supply chain / operations roles, with meaningful exposure to perishables (eggs, dairy, meat/seafood, fresh produce, or similar short-shelf-life categories)
- Prior experience in businesses with a farm-gate, decentralized, or third-party production interface
- Track record of running or scaling a multi-site, geographically distributed operation
- Experience managing cold chain and time-sensitive last-mile logistics, ideally into quick-commerce or modern trade channels would be an added advantage
- Strong process/quality engineering orientation
- Demonstrated ability to manage a distributed field force and build SOPs that hold up without direct daily oversight
- Logistics and network design skills - hub-and-spoke planning, route optimization, packaging for fragile goods
- Data and tech fluency
- Strong working knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (FSSAI or equivalent) and experience running compliance audits across owned and third-party facilities
- Strong commercial and cost-modelling sense; can think in unit economics as the network scales
- Hands-on and comfortable with ambiguity
- Builder mentality
- Eggoz is an equal opportunity employer
