Economic Urban Planner - Government Projects

Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a seasoned Economic Urban Planner to join our dynamic team. This is a strategic role on a high-impact urban development project in Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement economic and urban planning strategies tailored to the needs of metropolitan areas, with a particular focus on Mumbai.

- Provide expert advisory support to government stakeholders on infrastructure planning, land use, urban governance, and economic development.

- Work closely with public institutions to design and execute evidence-based urban development policies and frameworks.

- Conduct detailed research, feasibility studies, and socio-economic impact assessments for planned development initiatives.

- Engage with local bodies, regulators, and community stakeholders to ensure urban planning proposals are inclusive, sustainable, and actionable.

Must-Have Experience:

- Proven experience in urban planning, economic development, or advisory/planning roles related to city infrastructure and policy.

- Strong background in public policy development and implementation, particularly in urban contexts.

- Demonstrated success in leading or contributing to urban development projects across sectors such as housing, transportation, sanitation, or economic zones.

- Hands-on experience in government advisory, working with municipal bodies, state or central government agencies on urban strategy, planning, or regulatory matters.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

- Graduate degree in Urban Planning, Economics, Public Policy, Urban Design, or a related discipline.

- Familiarity with tools and software such as GIS, data analysis platforms, or urban modeling is a plus.

- Prior experience in Maharashtra or fluency in Marathi would be an added advantage.
