We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Controller to manage and oversee our financial operations in Sales & Distribution. Own the accuracy, integrity, and analysis of financial reporting for the Search & Discovery business unit, ensuring high-quality financial information and supporting decision-making. This role bridges finance operations and business insight, ensuring that reported numbers are both correct and understood.

Time - 1pm afternoon to 9 pm

What You'll Do:

Reporting Ownership & Financial Integrity:

- Own the end-to-end management reporting for the business unit

Ensure financial results are:

- Accurate

- Complete

- Consistent

- Perform critical review of financial data delivered by finance operations

Close review & accounting oversight

- Act as the primary reviewer of monthly close outputs

- Challenge and validate:

- Revenue recognition

- Cost allocations

- Accruals and provisions

- Identify errors, inconsistencies, or risks and ensure they are corrected by finance operations

Financial analysis & variance explanation:

- Analyse financial performance and explain:

- Variances vs. budget/forecast

- Key drivers behind results

- Provide structured, insight-driven explanations to management

Budgeting & Forecasting:

- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecast in collaboration with business leaders.

- Monitor and analyse variances between actual results and budget/forecast.

- Continuously improve forecast accuracy

Business Analysis:

- Analyse and track financial progress towards defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

- Analyse the company's business result and interpret financial data and trends to provide recommendations to business leaders.

- Conduct scenario analysis and other ad hoc analysis.

Business Support:

- Provide financial insights and support to management and other stakeholders.

- Work closely with different departments to gather and analyse financial data, identify improvement areas and drive cross-team success.

Internal Control:

- Identify and evaluate risks and propose actions to manage these risks.

- Collaborate with different departments to ensure compliance with internal controls.

Project Work:

- Participate in projects related to finance and business management, for example implementation of new financial software or business systems.

- Develop and implement routines to optimize the company's financial reporting.

What We're Looking For:

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance or accounting roles

Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations

- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor team members

- Proficient in financial software and advanced Excel skills
