Job Title: Risk Analyst - BRE
Department: Credit & Risk

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Rule Engine (BRE) Specialist to join our Credit & Risk team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining business rules using BRE -Structured Rule Language (SRL) to support the company's lending operations. You will play a critical role in optimizing and automating decision-making processes, ensuring that business rules are aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements. The BRE Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, risk, and IT, to design and integrate rule-based systems that enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role within the lending or financial services industry.
- Proven experience in assessing a wide range of credit products (personal loans, business loans, mortgages, etc.) and managing credit assessment.
- Develop, implement, and optimize business rules using BRE (SRL) to automate key lending decisions.
- Translate business requirements into well-defined rule sets and ensure that they align with business objectives, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to rule execution, performance bottlenecks, and rule conflicts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of testing tools like postman testing / Bulk testing utility.
- Write and maintain SRL code and test to ensure that business rules are accurate and efficient
- Collaborate with other developers and technical teams to ensure that the business rules align with the overall system design.
- Ensure seamless flow of data between different platforms, enabling real-time decision-making and automated credit risk management
- Document all business rules and technical specifications.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience required in Credit Underwriting in Financial service industry.
- At least 1 year of experience working with Business Rule Engines, preferably in the lending or financial service industry.
- Strong knowledge of SRL and experience with writing complex business rules.
- Knowledge to execute complex SQL queries will be given preference.
- In-depth understanding of Java
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Educational Qualification
- BE/BTech with 1+ years' experience in IT domain in lending business with specific experience.
- Master's Degree/ Certification in Business Rule Management, Data Science, or a related field are a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, candidate should be able to prepare documentation and change logs.
- Detailed-oriented ability to multi-task effectively and work against tight deadlines.
- Excellent logical reasoning, problem solving approach and analytical skills.
- Good business acumen and should have the strong follow ups with business teams for timely closures.
