DS Group - General Manager - Plant Operations

Role Objective:

Support the Business Head in driving plant operations for Heat Resistant Latex Rubber Thread manufacturing, ensuring delivery of production, quality, cost, safety, and profitability targets while enabling continuous improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations including production planning, capacity utilization, and resource optimization

- Ensure adherence to quality standards and heat-resistance product specifications

- Drive cost optimization through yield improvement, waste reduction, and process efficiencies

- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and technical teams for trials, process optimization, and new product development

- Support procurement and supply chain for raw material availability and inventory optimization

- Handle customer technical discussions, audits, and complaint resolution

- Lead plant teams with focus on performance management, engagement, and capability building

- Ensure statutory, safety, environmental, and governance compliance

- Support CAPEX projects, plant expansion, and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Accountabilities:

- P&L ownership, budgeting, and commercial negotiations

- Achievement of KPIs: production, OEE, yield, quality, and OTIF delivery

- Margin improvement, cost savings, and customer satisfaction

- Vendor management and raw material sourcing (latex, additives, stabilisers)

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration

A. Must-Have Criteria:

18-20 yrs manufacturing experience Rubber / latex / polymer / chemical processing exposure Plant operations leadership experience Production planning & capacity utilization Quality & process optimization exposure Team leadership experience (shopfloor + cross-functional)

B. Strong Preference:

- Heat resistant rubber / elastomer products exposure - Lean / Six Sigma / TPM initiatives- CAPEX / plant expansion experience- Vendor management & raw material sourcing- Customer technical interactions & audits- P&L ownership
