About the Job We are looking to appoint a Head Investment Banking to lead and scale the firms Investment Banking vertical.
The role will be responsible for origination, execution oversight, revenue growth, and client relationships across M&A, private equity fund raising, structured finance, and strategic advisory.
This is a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for building a strong deal pipeline, closing marquee transactions, and institutionalising the IB franchise in alignment with the firms Wealth, PMS, and AIF platforms.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the Investment Banking business, including M&A advisory, private equity fund raising, strategic transactions, and structured finance.
- Drive deal origination through promoters, UHNI / Family Offices, PE/VC funds, corporates, and institutional relationships.
- Oversee end-to-end deal execution, including pitchbooks, IMs, valuations, due diligence, negotiations, and transaction closure.
- Build and manage a robust IB pipeline, ensuring consistent fee generation and high conversion ratios.
- Work closely with Wealth Management, PMS, and AIF teams to enable cross-selling and capital raise opportunities.
- Lead client engagement at CXO / promoter / investor level, acting as a trusted strategic advisor.
- Build, mentor, and manage the IB team (Associates, VPs, Directors) with strong execution discipline.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance, and governance standards across all IB transactions.
- Represent the firm in market forums, investor meetings, and strategic partnerships.
- Own IB revenue targets, profitability, and cost discipline.
Skills Required Domain Skills:
- Strong experience in Investment Banking, covering:
- M&A (buy-side and sell-side)
- Private equity / strategic fund raising
- Corporate finance & strategic advisory
- Deep understanding of Indian capital markets, PE/VC ecosystem, and corporate deal landscape.
- Proven track record of closed transactions with measurable deal value.
- Sector exposure across financial services, manufacturing, consumer, healthcare, infrastructure, or technology preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in financial modelling, valuation (DCF, comps, transaction multiples).
- Strong command over IMs, pitchbooks, teasers, and transaction documentation.
- Understanding of SEBI regulations, Companies Act, FEMA, and transaction structuring.
- Ability to evaluate business models, risks, and deal economics.
- Comfortable with CRM tools, pipeline management, and financial analysis platforms.
Managerial Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent client management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, target-driven environment.
- Strategic thinking with strong execution orientation.
- Proven ability to collaborate across Wealth, PMS, AIF, and Research teams.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, or Transaction Advisory.
- Prior experience at investment banks, Big 4 deal advisory, boutique IB firms, or leading financial institutions.
- MBA / CA / CFA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing P&L or revenue targets
